When I was in 3rd grade my school was a part of the pilot program that became "cable in the classroom." Our class was the first to receive this privilige, and it was highly touted for weeks before all the wires and junk was hooked up. We had a live, unfiltered, uncut, first on the scene view of a real live space-shuttle launch featuring one of the first non-astronauts to go to space, a teacher named Christa McAuliffe. We popped popcorn and turned all the lights off, then a room full of 9 year olds watched as 7 people were blown to bits over the Atlantic Ocean.
