Best obscure story from an Autobiography; or incidental to an Historic work

I thought this might be fun.

Included in Mark Twain's Autobiography there was the story of a certain Mrs. Morris, who had issue with President Teddy Roosevelt. Click this link to a google books search return and scroll up to the sentence that begins:

In Charles Lindbergh's autobiography, he describes "gremlins" being with him in the cockpit while he flew across the Atlantic on his famous solo trip, lol. He said that they gave him good advice on his flight, lol.
