mainly though, a lot of non-targeted attacks, typical malware, trojans, etc. I have had only two cases, where I am 99% sure someone was target and cheated via remote control software, so the person they were playing against could view their screen---and im 60/40 that it was the same group/person targeting both cases, similar stakes, same remote software installed
What do you think about the "computer security guide for poker players" by funkyworm in the computer technical help forum?

so just to make this clear. of course its better to use 2 notebooks/pc`s. one for serious stuff, one for messing around.
but isnt this completely irrelevant when both laptops are connected to the same wifi ?

I would never play on a wireless network, Im not going to go into it, but 99.9999% of typical home setups are super easily hacked(and it doesn't matter that ftp/stars etc encrypt their data IN THIS CONTEXT).

i hope no one takes offense, and Im really just giving this a cursory glance and not watching any of the videos, but rather just commenting on the outline

its decent, but basic. I would rather people use sandboxie/vm's/seperate pc rather then no script, but its a good program if you cant do the above---

I recommend more than one antivirus program running at a time, and not sure if touched on but your pass words should be 15 characters alpha/numeric/capitalized/symbols

Really? I consider myself relatively tech savvy and this surprises me. I use WPA2/AES for my home wireless encryption. Is this safe?

If u don't want to get into the details itt, can u PM me or direct me to a link.

meh, more than one AV running at once causes a ton of problems.

wpa/aes is safe. pretty sure he's talking about wep which is super weak

more then one AV running at once does not cause problems if you select the right ones, only having one AV is stupid, the more you can run at the same time, the higher your chances of the malware being detected.

wpa+aes is safe, wpa is not, most people do not use it by default though.

and it is very ******ed advice to dissuade people from using a VM.

Hi all of u, all of this has been going on in sweden to.

To long threads ~2 weeks old about it here.

Use google translate or whatever i will put my story short here to

I first wrote this thread after PA coming out in swedish pokermagasine about getting scammed.

http://pokerforum.nu/forum/onlinepok...re-pa-svs.html

and just a few days later more players come to me with the same story. Same as in this tread start...

http://pokerforum.nu/forum/onlinepok...ml#post1676361

....

I had the same BS ****, random guy on the swedish site Svenska spel ask me for coaching. Post me link to false teamviewer site, some days after a guy pops in and steals ~100k$.. And more swedes have the same story, its like they have targeted every hs player there is almost. Cause the were in contact with some players who they failed to infiltrate...

After reading only first page of this thread im 100% that its the same guys, im to lifetilted atm to read or write more. Just wanted u to know that they have taken a lot from many good swedes. Crushed some of them so bad, not only hustling by playing also hacking msn, skype peoples moneybookers and just crush peoples life leaving them with nothing....

Do that many people give strangers access to their computer? I guess security doesnt pick up these particular trojans?

It's not really that easy. An USB stick in and out in a few seconds and then it's done. It's very rare people say no if someone asks for checkin their mail for 1min or something. Also just by clicking at a link you could get this trojan. I've heard so many ways people have got it. Then the scammers play like huge fishes so nobody leaves until it's to late and you've dropped 10BI+ at NL5k+

Cliffs on the swedish scam scandal are:
- A lot of people getting scammed in the same ways and by the same screenames. HH's are just ridic.
- Thread started on swedish pokerforum with accusations against Samer and some other people.
- Accusations removed, rumour says people with the accusations were threatened that things would happen if they didnt stop.
- Now this thread blows up, I doubt people will get any money back but it's good that this comes out so people can be more aware.

I'm Swe and are writing from this user cuz i don't want anyone to know who I am. That just shows how messed up this is in swe. HS internet players just don't want to risk having things happen to them just to catch these guys. It's not worth it since nobody will get their money back. As Samer said in the convo their rule #1 is to be 100% safe.

I guess you have to be careful since its everyones responsibility to protect the computer they play from since the sites really cant do much or people could claim being comprimised at any point.
