stars tomluec and porktom ftp. Does anybody know what I'm supposed to do?

Start by emailing stars/ftp support and get the accounts locked and find out the ip's that were used to login from.

do you have any idea how it happened? anything else hacked, like AIM/MSN etc etc?

I can still log into aim and my email address. I've emailed both supports and told them that my accounts were hacked.

I had a trojan on my computer a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a pretty harmless variety. apparently I was pretty wrong.

ugh brutal man, unlucky.

maybe it's not a bad idea to get any other accounts temporarily locked just in case?

It sounds like i'm as much of a computer newb as you, I had a trojan on my computer from downloading off limewire.

it seems like i managed to clear it from my computer, when running the virus protector (avg) it doesn't pick up anything, so am i good?

I did get it taken care of, my guess is that they took off the relevant information before I did. And you are right that I was very stupid about not changing pws on everything.

I'm guessing there is no way I'm getting any of this money back?

it appears that the hacker was on my ft account from 2:30AM to 3:32 AM. Atleast on hold'em....wish I knew how much he lost at the plo tables. Suppose the account is probably empty by now

Sorry to hear op. I'd email ftp&stars and get the hand histories asap. Its doubtful you'll get any money back unless its volunteered. This hand was posted in the omaha bbv thread.

fwiw i emailed ftp security and told them to check the IP address. they emailed me back w/in 10 mins saying the appropriate action had been taken w/ the account and about the same time u left the tbl(guessing ftp pulled u off and locked the account) and u still had money left at the tbl so there is some hope that u didnt lose it all.

It'd help if ftp would clue into the whole foreign ip and hacks going hand in hand to save people heartache and a whole lot of cash. I emailed them before asking them to address this exact issue but they won't (because it'll cost them rake i assume).

FTP is a joke why can't they have RSA security token, and fix the email issue

This is a lot of money to me.
It seems as if the hacker was just dumping money as quickly as possible, not with any direction at all.

I would appreciate it if anybody who made money from porktom on ftp or tomluec on stars would please put that money aside for a time when I could receive it again. Even if you don't want to or can not pay me back for all the money you won from me during that period I would greatly appreciate anything you can do.

If you know somebody who made money from me during that period please point them to this thread. I will be compiling a list of all the money made from me and from what players from pokertableratings.com. I will also be posting the names of all the people who paid me back.

The time period on ft when the hacker lost my money was around 2AM-4AM.
Not sure what the time period on pokerstars was yet. But I've talked with pokerstars security and they gave me the below information. Hopefully FT will also send me a list of the players who made money from me.

If anybody has hand histories from when I was playing those would be helpful. Please pm me for my aim SN.

I don't know if you can expect much back. People probably lost money to the hacker at some point too, and they wouldn't expect you to give the money they lost back.

it looks as if not many people actually lost money to the hacker. I will see if I can obtain those numbers as well.

I probably can. If I can I will find the % lost to the hacker on all involved accounts and send back reimbursement money accordingly.

for example:

suppose I lost 80k to the hacker, player A won 100k from the hacker and player B lost 20k to the hacker.

If player A sends 50k back I will send 10k to player B and keep 40k for myself (80% for me 20% for player B). Hopefully I can get these numbers together tonight or as soon as possible
