I don't think I'd describe that guy as a nit. Guess I haven't played him all that much though. For 100BB it's just so hard to push anyone off of any good full house (which it sure looks like he has, if you're even beat). I wouldn't do it.
07-13-2009 , 09:26 PM
i think you are only getting called by better stealth
07-13-2009 , 09:31 PM
eh i mean he folds some bigger flushes if he even raises river with them, but i dont think he folds any full house that he'd play this way - like i think this is kings full far more often than 96/TT etc.

its unlikely you have qjhh, i guess you could have 78hh, but id think youd raise flop some w that. you're essentially repping quads only - if he thinks well. also depends a lot on how sick he thinks you are.

and yeah ive only played 6 handed w him but he wasnt nitty at all.

shootah,

I think that's obvious. Stealth didn't think his hand was good enough to call. He felt his EV would be greater by turning his hand into a bluff instead of just calling.

Stealth,

If I was your opponent I would probably feel that you could never have nut hearts, 66, 99, TT, or 9T. I would expect you to check raise those hands on the flop.

I guess it's possible you could flat KK preflop depending on the other 2 cards.

I don't really like it because he could have JQ a ton and I don't think he's going to fold it.

He could even check back a fullhouse on the turn quite a bit.

Pretty sick play.

I would've thought that someone who plays SSNL with me would make sure they are commenting on a PLO or NL hand before posting high stakes advice. Not to mention flush > straight.

I hate when people respond with % in ranges, and most of the time they are just terribly off n make up %s...so I'll just say he has KK almost always, and a bluff very very little, (if at all). Ace high flush very rarely, 6s full of kings I guess he can play same way, (maybe he'd fold that too?)

I just assumed he was a nit because I only remember him shortstacking bigger games, and well, most shortstackers are nits.

I put him on kings full when he raised...just thought that he might find a fold. I know if I'm playing well, I think I'd find a fold there. If he did this with a jack high flush on a nonpaired board for 110bb when the turn goes c/c everyone would be like WTF CRAZYFISH, when this isn't ALL that different.. I have the 1st nut, 2nd nut, and 3rd nut blocker....granted I c/r the 1st n 2nd nuts in my hand on flop at a pretty good frequency...I still have them in my range.

Whatever, it was a heat of moment kind of thing, and too fancy. You shouldn't try to get people to fold fullhouses I guess. Keep it simple, stupid. Blahblahblah, I didn't wanna make this a real thread, because i hate when people make threads "Hey look at me i made a creative higher level crazy play" bla bla bla, dumb hand, I suck, just had to get it out to other people cuz after sending it to a few on my buddy list it wasn't enough to end the tilt.

100bb deep it was just me lighting a couple stacks on fire.....but when stacks get much deeper in PLO the game gets too ****ing sick sometimes.

stealth, i agree w/ you: villain's range is basically KK. w/ nut flush or 6T/6K imo he would just call your bet on river and TT/99/66 he would bet on turn. anyway, i don't like your play because you are just 100bbs deep and he can't find a fold w/ good boat. also, he checked on turn, he could think ''villain knows that i don't have a boat since i checked turn, he could be bluffing... lets see''. if you were 200bbs deep would be a nice play imo. but being just 100bbs he probably thinks 'meh, top boat, 100bbs. ****, i am curious, lets see what he have'.

btw, you don't think this hand is a easy fold pre flop?

ps: i played w/ lokoisback 2 or 3months ago, when i was a big fish at plo and was learning the game. at least vs me, he isn't a nit. i don't have good reads/notes on him because i was a ****** fish at plo 2 months ago. nowadays i am just bad...

edit: p-shootah, just SHUT UP man. you have no idea about what you talking!!! stealthmunk's last post is very good and i agree w/ his post.
07-13-2009 , 11:23 PM
damn i didn't know plo only took 2 months to master. def gonna have to start playing that game.

Hachem slams Main Event competition

By Rod Stirzaker

2005 Main Event Champion Joe Hachem pulled no punches in his assessment of the competition he has faced at the WSOP 2009 Main Event.

"There are so many f***ing idiots with no respect for what they are doing," Hachem told PokerListings. "They should be at home playing with themselves."

Hachem has always been an outspoken character, his aggressive demeanor at the felt often causing friction with other players.

His latest vicious diatribe came during a break in Day 6, with Hachem still nursing the possibility of collecting his second Main Event title - albeit with a shortstack.

Though Hachem was unable to turn his small stack into a big stack, crashing out midway through the day, he was quick to pay credit to the Main Event's deep-stacked format.

"The structure is amazing," he said. "I've never felt under pressure the whole tournament. Even at 50% of the average, you're not under pressure."

Coming into the day, the average stack size was a very generous sixty big blinds, causing Hachem to be surprised at some of the over-aggressive plays he has witnessed at this year's Main Event.

"You see people getting 450k into the middle with fresh air or second pair into a made hand," he said. "These guys can never win tournaments until they grow up and have a brain."

Hachem has had several results since his famous World Series win in 2005, including picking up the Five Diamond WPT title in 2006.

Despite a flourishing poker career and nearly $11 million in winnings from tournament poker, Hachem is not overly concerned with creating a legacy that history will remember.

"To be honest, I've not even thought about that," he said.

Instead, Hachem had more to say about the terrible play he had witnessed.

"I'm actually disgusted," he said. "They have played like absolute monkeys and morons to get here. For the game of poker, they should not even be in the Main Event."
