You don't gain strength by 'fatiguing' your muscles.

Pilates is probably quite useful in rehabilitation scenarios and such. But for a normal person wanting to keep fit, or get in shape I would guess its one of the most useless things you could do with those goals in mind.

JaBlue, what do you mean by 'better than'? Also why can't you do both?

not going to bash pilates too much, but seriously ja picking up heavy things and moving them has been a way for people to stay physically fit, ready for life, sport, combat, and safe from harm for well, hmmm, since the beginning of time. it is a much much more relevant way to exercise for ALL people, it is just that most people do it very very poorly and without even a small clue.

think function. irl you have to pick things up and move them, including yourself. you never ever have to butterfly kick your legs to "strengthen your core" or my favorite "elongate your muscles" that s**t is a total joke man. shaking doesn't mean a thing. do some research on this. glad you liked your experience though. some things are fun but don't be fooled that they are effective for much of anything

While we are on that note... way earlier in the thread NYCballer posted that if i was playing 50/100 - 100/200 he would hop on the next plane to come play me and I told him when and where I would be playing. So out yourself bro, which player at the tables were you this month?
