if lima plays NewScreennameA and loses and it turns out a week later to be FMyLife's new party SN, all is good.
if lima plays NewScreennameA and loses and it turns out a week later that FMyLife still has his own SN, then it's suddenly bad. Yet clearly the match in isolation is identical. Seems to be odd to say one is multiaccounting and the other not.

Now if lima saw FMyLife's WalterSobchak SN logged in and sitting on other tables while he was playing this guy then that's obviously different...

fwiw, fmylife's roommates switch often take each other's screennames and like taking other players old screennames

Someone asked about the fmylife's roommates. They are AdvancedFear and other one that plays the same stakes and same tables. However, I don't want to out him because he always gives action and starts tables and has always been well-mannered (except for the taking other players old scrennnames part), at least with me.

ok that's sketchy... i was playing 3 handed 10/20 with fmylife and advancedfear on multiple tables the other day, as well as playing both of them HU simultaneously, for hours. guess i know not to do that anymore.

No, it's still different. In scenario 1, FMyLife has "paid" for this advantage by using his allotted screen name change. In scenario 2, he hasn't. So in scenario 2 he gains an unfair advantage relative to people who play by the rules and in scenario 1 he doesn't.

Edit: Didn't read this thread as carefully as I should have, didn't realize people were talking about the possibility of him having another account on WPTPoker. That's fine too, IMO. I really think expectations should be pretty clear for this stuff: You're supposed to play by the rules. Beyond that there's no expectation that you play nice and give away any more information about your identity than the sites require.

Unfortunately, the site's rules (Party Poker) say: players from countries that have more players at high stakes can swap their scrennames every month undetected, while players from countries that have only 1 player can't (country of each player is shown at the tables and it can't be hidden).

I keep mailing them, but they don't care one bit.

I also don't respect the people who don't want to say their old screennames/screennames on other sites, no matter if it's not breaking the rules of some site.

However, that's the subject for some other discussion.
