I just thought it was interesting that the point of the match is to see who the better player is, and the line determined by savvy prop betters is already skewed towards one side which in a way answers that question.

grudge matches are still fun tho

but how many have actually played both HU?

I think the line has been based more on how good they appear to be based on posts, than any sort of actual poker skill.

the line is because of popularity. whoever posts the mostand seems to talk poker better and is more known usually is the favorite.

ec10 won both rounds of negotiations . . . dalimay regret making this challenge. based on personal interactions with both players, cheering for the nit.

Actually, I have been thinking it over, and while 10 BI's is fine by me, I also want a 10k hand cap, meaning if no one at 10 BI's before 10k hands, match ends there.

The plot thickens. What was the line on this match never happening again?

I'll take this if we can also swap 50% of our action.

i can't believe how frustrating these negotiations are.

the last set of proposed rules was proposed BY YOU.

it was then accepted by YOUR OPPONENT.

how does this actually leave room for you to propose additional or different rules?

(not that i think that the 10k hand cap is terrible, or that it will be turned down, just saying.)

i am not a money escrow service. every time one of these threads happens i get random ftp xfers and PMs in my box here saying "sent u $X for escrowing a bit with Y." do not do this!

yah seriously. i'm ok with that i guess though, 10k hands is a lot. one last thing to determine: does the side bet still get paid if nobody is at +$10k after 10k hands? (i think it should) after this i'm ready to start today. i'll send the money to FWF as soon as Cit confirms he has dali's money and then i'm ready to gogogo.

dali say when a good time is for you to start

cts,

keep the money, profit X cheeseburgers.

ec10,

dali is not escrowing with me because i will not escrow on FT for him. (i stated many times previously i would escrow on stars.)

i would assume the match is now first to 10 buyins or winner at 10k hands, but what do i know?

edit: don't know why it's 10k hands now instead of 7.5k either.

10k hand is a crapload, I mean I know Daliman is nitty but surely someone will be up 10 buyins after much less time, right?

cit,

"i would assume the match is now first to 10 buyins or winner at 10k hands, but what do i know?"

This doesn't even make sense now. The whole reason for whoever wanted the 10BI thing was so someone couldn't dog it at the end to protect a lead. Now it does almost the reverse - if someone is ahead big early, they can take a couple of -EV shots to go for 10BI to either win it right there otherwise nit it up to protect the lead.

If they are really worried about someone folding in the last stretch to protect a lead, they should either:

a) play to a buyin win, period

or

b) Have a trusted person or persons select a number from within a range (say 8k,9k,10k,11k, or 12k) and then check in every thousand hands to see if they need to keep playing. Obv if they get past 11k in that scenario same thing, but nothing's perfect...
