hoping to get feedback from people who've played tuan, he plays nothing like ur standard 2+2er. he's real spewy, takes lines that make no sense. he's reraised me alot pre and ive floated his flop cbets every time, he has thus far not followed up with a turn bet. he insta shoved turn if it makes a difference

Seat 5: TuanLam ($9033 in chips)
Seat 6: -BBJ- ($4900 in chips)
-BBJ-: posts small blind $25
TuanLam: posts big blind $50
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to -BBJ- [8s 8c]
-BBJ-: raises $100 to $150
TuanLam: raises $300 to $450
-BBJ-: calls $300
*** FLOP *** [3h Kc 4c]
TuanLam: bets $600
-BBJ-: calls $600
*** TURN *** [3h Kc 4c] [7s]
TuanLam: bets $7983 and is all-in

I've played Tuan some but don't have any solid reads mostly because he was just random. I think he WILL play a K like this. This call would be cooler if the turn was another heart but now his range is now weighted towards clubs/pair+SD/Kx. Looks like a fold though.

i'd call a7, idk wtf i do w/ 88 tho
08-03-2008 , 10:10 AM
I insta call
08-03-2008 , 10:13 AM
I just think this a spewy line I expect him to take to counteract and stop your constant floating. Way more weighted toward bluff then anything

Id raise/call flop a lot vs. a guy like this - haven't played him much, tho.

Snap turn obv. And I'm much more comfortable calling w 88 than A7 - leaves a lot more combo's for 76/75.

huh?

so what exactly you're hoping someone spazztic bet/3bet shoves that your 88 is "beating" ie. you are actually way ahead of instead of always flipping or being crushed?

let him take it one time tough spot eh

88 is a pretty good inducer on Kxx /w xx<8 to get shoves from A high and combi's of xx's. It's been a while since 88 had 20% equity to a 3bet shove.

Obv it takes a bunch of bluffraises to balance in your range.

I've played with him some and he basically just bluffs too much in every spot.
08-03-2008 , 12:59 PM
i just 4bet get in 88 pf vs everyone now, makes like a lot easier
08-03-2008 , 01:03 PM
lol how could the great NYC baller, who is such a great feel player need the help of 2 + 2? I mean.... its Tuan Lam ffs.... most 1/2 nl players could beat him HU. not sure why you are posting this as it's pretty read/game flow dependent. not sure why you are trying to play bluff catcher and use your 20th level thinking vs him... when it's definitely not necessary.

with that said.... its obviously a 4 bet allin preflop.

after thinkin about this post and talkin with raptor, lol <3 nyc baller.

i dont think anyone is gonna give you more action because of this hand...

but i think its funny and give you A+ for effort! haha

i don't understand why anyone would give me action cause of this hand. ur way over my head here
08-03-2008 , 02:38 PM
yah im confused too

i would call he seems like the kinda guy who thinks since youre floating every cbet next time hes gonna shove NO MATTER WHAT and thats the extent of his strategy

but if he wins and you risk him leaving i'd fold

Jeez, even king of the nits is instafistpumpcalling here, unless, like KRANTZ said, there is a good chance he will leave after.

i don't get this logic from you guys tbh - if he's going to leave once he wins a decent pot, why wouldn't we want to win one right away rather than later when it's for more money??? he's going to win a pot eventually if he's as spewy and ******ed as we are led to believe...

I'd def call and I've played against him a lot.

88 has a lot of value fourbetting pre against him.
08-03-2008 , 08:50 PM
redgrape hit the nail on the head, although he has Kx a bunch here. i'm actually somewhat scared of it possibly not being a profitable turn call, although 4-betting pre or 3-betting flop i'm 100 % are both wildly profitable

Man internet pros always love to give live tourney winners(in this case, runner up) no respect whatsoever and then make calls in spots like these just because they "spew".

And, of course, lose a big pot.. I wonder who's the spew lol. You would think that live tourney winners with a brain at all would know to do exactly this in spots like this vs online pro.... overshove make it look so much like a bluff... and induce calls from mediocre hands.

This is my take on him too

snapcall vs him hes the type that is sick of u calling every flop and will just shove turn with his whole airrange that he bets on the flop. But 4bet preflop every single time
08-04-2008 , 02:32 AM
everyone that said 4bet preflop, I definitely agree that is the right way to go here. with that said, I cannot believe it never entered my mind until krantz posted about him leaving if he wins this hand. If i fold he only he wins 1k and from my limited experience he doesnt hit and run for under 50 BBs but he frequently hit and runs after doubling up and does not leave after getting stacked. I think if the math is close enough on the call this is enough to sway the decision for me as he is basically a monster fish at these stakes. with that said, results.....

I called and he had 74dd for turned two pair. my thinking was that he was probably doing this with every flush draw and every pair combo draw(45, 67, 57), A5 and sometimes with random crap like A2/A6
