2 hands with Limon 2 hands with Limon

09-25-2010 , 11:14 AM
I'm starting to think I shouldn't have even said these hands were against Limon and instead just a random tag because of the ****storm that seems to follow him around on 2+2. Its so strange considering he is, as far as I can tell, very well liked at the casino. Hes also very good for the games insomuch as he knows every sucker on a first name basis and treats them with respect at the tables. Its hard to believe that Abe at the casino is Limon on 2+2.

please tell us why raising in position with any hand worth playing multi-way vs a bunch of limpers in a deep-stack NL game is a worse option then limping?
RBK, first of all I presented NO LOGIC in my post. It was a simple statement of fact. There is a difference.

As for why raising could be a worse option, don't you think some hands would want to remain as deep as possible compared to the pot postflop?

I am saying that sometimes it is profitable to overlimp preflop. You are saying it is NEVER better than raising. I don't think it would be to difficult for an intelligent person to think of a set of circumstances and variables that make limping better than raising, so if ONE case exists, then more must also exist.

BTW, THAT is called logic.

its LA's thread. ill let him tell it when hes ready. Im still waiting to hear why the overlimp w/ 55 was lol-bad in the game described... (not an imaginary game where everyone is a drooler, never 3 bets and always checks to you on the flop. come to think of it thats not an imaginary game its the 5-10)

Yeah definitely easy folds given what I know about limon. I also think limping pre with the fives is the best play (though raising is fine) but would definitely raise the queen and nine suited

wait, why didn't you bet turn on hand #2?

Probably because I play bad in the heat of the moment. The way the flop was played, I knew I wasn't in with a draw. On the turn I thought I might be value owning myself or getting popped as often as I would get value.

I guess I don't like to make things easy. I CALLED BOTH!

Results Hand #1. I just couldn't think of many/any hands consistent with / a monster but lots consistent w/ a draw. I closed my eyes I think and put the money in. He said, "Ace Hi" showed the A, I showed and he mucked.

Results Hand #2. Hand #1 effected me here no doubt. Every ounce of my being said fold. But the fact that the game was super ramped up and Limons earlier play got me to call. Of course he has AJ.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Interesting discussion

I was just PM'd a interesting discussion of these hands by AEJones here:

Sorta brutal with the "lol livaments" vibe but if you filter it out the analysis is cool.

I'm sure Limon will love it. They call him, "strange, odd, weird" about 100 times.

how far into the show is it; not gonna sit thru an hour- or however long broadcast it is.

I wonder where all the all the "limon sucks" stuff comes from in regard to these 2 hands? Must be a reflection on my entire body of work.

"limon almost for sure plays really weird, and when i say really weird i mean, primarily, terrible."
