After talking to the few women I know out here our first meet up date will be January 16th @ the Yard House in Red Rock @ 8 PM. If you are in Vegas please feel free to stop by and hang out. Every woman I have approached with the idea seems genuinely interested, it feels as though we all go through the same struggles of feeling a little isolated in this world. I think there should be 6-10 females there but even if its just me there I will make sure to have a good time

I got to brag on my wife a bit. She doesn't post here, but she entered the Ladies Event at the WSOP-CE Tunica stop and finished 4th. I was hoping she was going to ship it, but it wasn't meant to be.

This was the first tournament she has has ever played, but she has been a pretty steady winner in cash games.

Where do you play? I'm at the Bike and Hawaiian Gardens quite a bit, and there are not a lot of women at the tables, but we are not so rare.

I'm curious why there would be such a difference on the east coast. I grew up there and don't recall a lot of women playing poker.

I mostly played in the Bay Area; lucky chances, Artichoke joes and a few other smaller rooms

I have played a little at the bike and remember playin with one or two women in the 5/5 and 5/10 games

The games on the east coast have a younger, more affluent population while the games on the west coast seem to be a little older and comprised of many asian men, often with short buys

Back to gay, Portland has a gay sports bar and a couple that sort of qualify but I'm kinda disappointed overall tbh

The game at the sports bar is a freeroll, so it's really just a donktastic way to spend a night drinking, goofing around, and possibly flirting if you find someone to your liking.

As far as cash games go, there are casinos a little over an hour away in WV and DE (they run 1/2, 2/5 and some 5/10 NL and Omaha), MD casinos will be getting poker soon, and there are a lot of home games in DC, MD, and VA once you get to know the right people. AFAIK unraked games are fine in DC, raked games are a no no...

Anyway, to get back on topic, I'd like to give a shout out to Phil Galfond who seems like he's really been benefitting from his health kick and that fresh Vancouver air recently

I think we have a really nice mixture actually of gay/straight/bi/men/women/etc posters in TWSS. It's one thing I am extremely proud of too, because I think the conversation here is good and people can post without fear of being trolled or ridiculed. I think TWSS is one of the best forums on 2+2 but I am obv biased
