I am new in the community. I am professional gambler ( online sports betting )

I know that many of you live ( or have connection with ) in Malta.

Could you kindly tell me if I have to pay tax from my winnings in Malta? I was told by somebody that "yes" but I can reduce it to 5 %...not sure how it works

Do you have any idea of that ? Could you recommend a good tax advisor ?

I will be very grateful and offer a good bottle of champagne in Malta for helping

all the best,
Pro

I think whoever you spoke to was perhaps confused a bit, the 5% "real rate" is something that applies to sportsbetting operators licensed in Malta.

I do not think Malta taxes foreign bettors directly for playing on Malta licensed sites.

If you are IN Malta, and concerned about your personal tax which might be due to Malta, I could recommend someone.

Many thanks Ted for your reply,

The person I spoke was not sure about that 5 % "real rate" but suggested about possibilty...

as far as I know Malta taxes residents for gambling online - as income tax.

I am thinking about becoming resident in Malta.

If you could recommend someone who is in gambling and can provide some good advise that would be great

i did read about paying taxes in gambling in malta , it is pretty conveniente. but i am also aware that not many banks accept money from gambling sites.... does somebody know how to have access to poker winnings in malta ? i read many people keep the money in skrill or neteller account, and pay everything cash , but that doesn't sound like the best solution... any advice is welcome
