Thread worked! Not an inch of bare skin!
Spoiler:

I'm not sure what percentage of OP's photo is "natural". But the desire on the part of advertisers to associate their products with attractive images in an effort to alter human behavior seems to be perfectly in concert with how the Natural world works. I'm not offended by that, but to each their own.

Hey, distelfrank, no complaining about my flipflops ! I wear them the full 365 days of a year, so that includes the casino

OT:

I have to admit that this one almost makes me want to play there. Unlike the ugly silicone thing in the first post

The text in pink is a poker holiday being held in Egypt although for Ukrainian tourists. The photo-advert is from Budapest, Hungary.

^ This point could be expressed more diplomatically, but I agree that Hungarian and Ukrainian women don't need people in the "patriarchial" West being offended on their behalf. They're stronger than that.

Looks pretty = Not to be taken seriously - that's mostly a western meme. For example in Eastern Europe it is normal for police women to wear plenty of make up without suddenly losing the power of arrest.

Sometimes it's better to focus energies nearer to home.

Are you capapble of understanding the written word? Did you actually READ through the Thread or did you just skip to the pictures?

I wouldn't say I resent it, but when I see something advertised this way I take it as a sign that the product is pretty second-rate. They don't have anything to say so they show a girl instead. Although the casino where I play has equal opportunities in this regards with both male and female bar staff apparently chosen for their looks.

Maybe I misunderstand the original post. I thought your perception is that the photo is intended to be of sexual interest for men and as a female player you find it annoying and off putting that tournaments are advertised that way. Another poster pointed out that the tournament is taking place in Hungary. Although he made it in an undiplomatic way, I don't think we can disagree with his contention that how women perceive and experience the interaction between female attractiveness and male sexuality is culturally specific - it experienced differently depending on whether the woman is from Boston, Riyadh or Budapest.

I am originally from England but now live in the East, so I can compare. For example beauty pageants are big events here on primetime TV, and they are mostly watched by women. Miss England never takes place without protests so I was amazed that my wife would actually look forward to watching Miss Slovakia, but she does. I'm not sure I can explain it, but I would compare it to, say: someone who values cars and driving wants to watch F1 where people are driving faster than he/she can, someone who values poker wants to watch people playing better and at higher stakes than he/she ever will and someone who values appearances and looks wants to see women who have taken that to a very high level too. I don't claim to be an expert on Hungary, I have only properly visited Budapest once, with my future wife. We stayed in a student hostel which was very quiet (it was summer) but had the showers marked as mixed. While my wife and I were there, a young Hungarian woman came in, dropped her towel, and took a shower in full sight of us - something that would never happen in the UK - despite all the "body confidence" campaigns. I am not saying one view is more correct than another, but it seems that the women here experience male sexuality as something they take power from rather than something that takes power away from them - so the advert is not as off-putting as it might seem to us, and probably best discussed on the Hungarian language forums if we can't find comparable examples from English-speaking countries.

I think if you tried to keep someone quiet by making a comment like that about any other combination of gender and sexual orientation people would rightly call you out for it.

Anyway I will stop posting in this thread except to answer any direct responses. TWSS is not my territory, I just check here occasionally to see if there is any progress in "Husband card player" or "Husband's downswings" - threads where I hope I have been able to provide constructive help to the OPs despite being a man. Sorry it didn't work out this time.

I think that more woman should advertise for poker. Generally.

The text is ridiculous. There has to be some type of translation issues. I don't see anything wrong with the picture.

The girl on the photo draws the attention of men to the ad. Its that simple. Men make up the majority of the player pool. If women made up the majority, you would see ads catering to women. I doubt it would be beefcake men, but who knows.

It is ultra simplistic, but what can you expect? Like you said, sex sells. That is never going to change.

It's really amateurish advertising. Anyone who knows anything about advertising knows advertisers mostly use women to sell to women, and men to sell to men, because that's the most effective. Some people love to ridicule lame ads like the one in the OP though because it supports their victimized worldview. There will always be dumb sexist men, just like there will always be conniving, gold digging women. It's only okay to ridicule the men though.
