Since other people are introducing themselves as well, I shall say:

Hi, I'm Pii (pronounced like the number pi, not like the bodily function), a lesbian woman from Finland whom about half the people I meet assume that I'm a man from somewhere in the US. I don't really know why, but people are quite random like that. Life variance, maybe?

I've been playing purely for fun with play money for about 10 years, but I'm slowly but surely making a transition to grinding micro stakes tournaments. I think my fundamentals are there, but the only legal real money online poker here is through such a feature-poor and buggy software that it's frustrating me to no end. The pay structures are also just about as annoying as they come, maximizing variance. (They even offer automatic all-in lottery tournaments, which is quite telling.) But I'm still on the winning side of things at the moment. Just doesn't encourage me much to commit. Hoping to grind enough to start playing live, although it probably is just a pipe dream. I also make fantastically unpopular live streams for fun.

On a side note, what do you think the top gay poker cities in the US are? The only criteria are good/many live poker venues and and a large gay community/neighborhood.
I live in dc. Let me know if you ever want to play together at mgm

I'll be going to LA for cards and then Vegas. About a week at the very end of June.

Are there any GLBTQ meet-up thingys for poker players?

I am guessing someone, somewhere probably has some social media group to try and get a meet-up, but my guess, at least for Vegas is that you are more apt to simply see gay/lesbian folks at the bars who happen to play poker.

This isn't to say there isn't migration towards "one's own" during a tournament...I know I offered up part of a room at the conclusion of a Circuit event to someone I played with at the final table who was clearly family. Neither of us had dropped the L word...we simply got along well and discussed partners during the various conversations between hands and on breaks.

Admittedly, even if there were meet-ups scheduled, I would likely take a pass simply because late nights are not what I want with the schedule I am trying to pull off. Breakfast with a couple of kindred spirits is far more likely with me LOL, but then I am old(er).

And, TBH, some of those sorts of things get to be NOT fun in a hurry since someone inevitably has to drag politics into the mix...

Are you really going to trash me for something that happened years ago? That's pretty ****ing pathetic. I owned up to everything years ago, and you come back out of the woodwork to trash me? People change man, and yet you're still the guy who follows me around and tries to remind people of what scum I am years after something happened? That's pretty laughable. You haven't even talked to me since several years ago when we exchanged PMs and pictures and I was very clearly not interested after figuring out who you are. I wonder if that has anything to do with all this pent up rage.

You sent the last PM to me back then

Then you got banned for racism for at least the second time, but it was the first I knew about it

If you apologized, I'm sorry, I missed it

I posted specifically because I'm worried about the safety of posters in this thread. It's laughable that you think I'm following you around or that this is in any way about you. I read this thread and intentionally try to avoid you at all costs, but I felt a responsibility here.

I'm not even going to mention the hilarious contents of the PM you sent me tonight because I think that's against forum rules, and again, this is about people's safety, not about you personally. But I'm pretty sure you'd be banned again if I reported the PM.

I hope you recover from whatever sad pain you're in.

To suggest that I'm of any danger to anyone is just utterly ridiculous and a testament to the fact that you don't know anything about me. If you want to avoid me, that's fine, that's actually preferred. But to come in like some gay white knight and suggest, hey, this guy might leave you in the desert because he posted some detestable **** on the internet a couple times - I mean, that's just being over the top dramatic . I've never threatened anyone, never even thrown a punch in my life. I punch like a child.

All you are doing is fear mongering for no reason, while all I'm trying to do is connect with people in a place where a lot of 2p2ers call home. Why don't you just let them decide for themselves? Right now I live with 3 2p2ers and am friends with a couple others. I can assure you that their characterization of me would not match yours. I was actually only planning on living with them for a month until I found my own place, but ended up staying because we got along so well.

I will say that, a few years ago, I was in a really, really bad place, and for whatever reason, I took out a lot of my anger on this forum. I haven't really even posted more than a handful of times in the last 3 years while I did some work IRL to try to get myself to a better place. I'm still getting there.

I could've easily dumped this account and started a new one, building up my post count over the past 3 years, and no one would've known a thing. But that's too easy. You have to own up to life's mistakes, and I've done that. To suggest that people don't deserve second chances, as you seem to be suggesting, is to hold one to a pretty high standard, don't you think?

I will give you some advice.
First off I do not recommend craigslist. If you want to just hook up, grinder or tinder are very good for this.
If you want to actually build long term gay relationships you need to do activities with other gay men. Meetup.com can be good for this but im also talking about things like being involved in fashion blogs or choir or soccer..or a gaymer group.

If you want to attract the attention of some rich gay dudes the best site for that is lookbook but you actually have to be attractive and stylish on that site.

based on the tone of your posts.. I also recommend some light blue calvin klein trunks.

thanks for the post, tried craigslist once but just weird

I've tried meetup.com but there's nothing close to decent within an hour+ of me, still trying to google some social groups in my area but not having a ton of luck. not really too interested in things that most (and, ya, I know I'm stereotyping) gay guys are in to, or at least the ones creating meetup groups.

Don't think I'm attractive enough for the lookbook thing

and...no idea what to think of the trunks comment lol

gunna double post here for some lol gay baseball puns, either of which are awesome if they were intentional:

First, I was walking through STL and there was a flamboyant, clearly gay kid walking around STL-maybe 12?-wearing pink shorts...and a (Kolton) Wong jersey. Gotta love the Wong as a gay dude.

Second-a foul ball hits the section above us and bounced back down about 2 rows in front of me and 5 seats to the right. Some kid, maybe 15-16, catches it and has the sweetest reaction ever-some combination of shock and excitement. As his arms are still raised, the guy sitting next to him leans over and kisses him before they turned back to the game. They ended up having on Wacha and Molina jerseys-the starting pitcher and catcher. I couldn't stop laughing at how awesome they were.

xnbomb : i liked these two posts and am kind of tipsy i have a bunch of questions and feel free not to answer them; this is a forum not a snap chat.

the first thing I would like to say is im glad you found that comment to be weird, I occasionally say weird stuff just to throw people off.

so I'm not that big of a baseball fan but maybe when KC royals play STL cardinals we could meet? that would be fun. How tall are you?
also, I am not a big baseball fan but would loosely categorize myself as a kc royals fan. did you ever play baseball? fyi i played baseball casually until 7th grade.

Lol I'm not actually from STL, I was just out there for the weekend with my family. Maybe I'll time my next trip for when the Royals are in town

I played a bit growing up, but never anything serious, I just really enjoy the game

So what are you drinking tonight??

It would be interesting/cool/faddish to have a GLBT poker player symbol. Or not?

Like a purple club or purple spade pin.

Just a rando thought.
