It appears like it will make the ballot in November, when we elect a new President, to also elect whether or not to allow a new Casino in either Jersey City or East Rutherford.
Any preference as to where, and why? East Rutherford (the old Meadowlands Racetrack) appears to be a front-runner because of parking, highway accessibility, but poses Sunday Football traffic & parking issues. Jersey City waterfront creates a larger downtown business-residential-mass transportation clientele from NYC, but is hindered by real estate costs, parking, and highway accessibility.

Meadowlands seems like a better choice.

I'm a fan of the Meadowlands, using the PA. model of creating a racino. It used to have the best harness racing in the USA, now passed by higher quality horseflesh at Yonkers and Mohegan Pocono, (even The Meadows in Pittsburgh)
Jeff Gural (Big M owner) has stated the financial survival of Meadowlands is hinged to casino approval.
Infrastructure basically in place. One would think its a slam dunk. But, it is New Jersey.....
