Re: My move to Mexico for online poker

Really starting to get the itch to come down there.

Mexico

Way down here you need a reason to move
Feel a fool running your stateside games
Lose your load leave your mind behind Baby James

Oh, Mexico
Sounds so simple
I just got to go
Sun's so hot I forgot to go home
Guess I'll have to go now

Americano got the sleepy eye
But his body's still shaking like a live wire
Sleepy Seńorita with the eyes on fire

Oh, Mexico
Sounds so sweet with the sun sinking low
The moon's so bright like to light up the night
Make everything all right

Baby's hungry and the money's all gone
The folks back home don't want to talk on the phone
She gets a long letter
Sends back a postcard
Times are hard

Oh, down in Mexico
I never really been so I don't really know
Oh, Mexico
I guess I'll have to go now
Oh, Mexico
I never really been
But I'd sure like to go
Oh, Mexico
I guess I'll have to go now

lyrics by James Taylor

For an account in dollars, you'll need ID and a utility bill with a Mexican address. If you do it, make sure you bring an actual bill (not just the contract that looks like the bill because they won't accept that), and there was a min initial deposit of $1k.

Your place looks a bit like Palacio del Mar, where I lived last year. Where is it located?

Best of luck down there

We are a little further south than everyone else, just past the military checkpoint.

It's tough to give an exact estimate but it's def a lot less. I think we are actually paying more than normal because of the fact that we are Americans and poker players, but it's still a great value for us. Having roommates is also a big plus since we share expenses.

Thanks. Yea, these are my thoughts exactly. I was interviewed by a writer from Poker Stars this week for final tabling the Women's Sunday $10kgtd, and I wanted to say some things regarding freedom, etc but didn't want to come off sounding like some zealot, lol.

Moving to Mexico has a lot to do with freedom, and I am very happy to be bringing my money to the Rosarito economy. I feel like we vote with every dollar we spend, and so I'm glad that I'm not in the US buying things, paying rent, utilities, etc. to support a govt that treats me as a criminal.

JamieAnn is moving in with me next week though, and a few other heroes have just recently made the move here including cylusballin, czar and chuck bass. I'm sure I'll have some fun pics soon

That's prolly still north of where we lived though

Our place was south of Primo Tapia, same building that shaniac lived in (maybe still does idk). Passing the military checkpoint at night always was kinda intimidating. That's nothing we have in Western Europe

Re: My move to Mexico for online poker

Now I'm just jonesing to get down there. Keep getting these songs stuck in my head.

Shauna

I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
And the touch of a world that is older
I turn the switch and check the number
I leave it on when in bed I slumber
I hear the rhythms of the music
I buy the product and never use it
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?

I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican whoa-oh radio

I dial it in and tune the station
They talk about the U.S. inflation
I understand just a little
No comprende, it's a riddle

I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican whoa-oh radio

I wish I was in Tijuana
Eating barbequed iguana
I'd take requests on the telephone
I'm on a wavelength far from my home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
I dial it in from south of the border
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?

I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican whoa-oh radio
I'm on a Mexican radio
I'm on a Mexican whoa-oh radio

Lyrics by Wall of Voodoo

Re: My move to Mexico for online poker

Picking up one of my best buds, and fellow Grindette, JamieAnn next Thursday in San Diego to head down to Rosarito...she is moving in with me! I should say something like it will be nice to have another girl around all the time, instead of the boys, but I have to admit, my roommates Ben and Clayton are pretty amazing guys and I'm lucky to have them.

I also can't wait for her to get back online and start crushing again; before Jamie and I became friends, I was a huge fan girl of hers and used to rail her final tables on FTP all the time. She always had such fun railbirds chatting it up too in the chat box. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

You should come on down! There is a hotel, actually on our grounds. We live in the Calafia Towers, but next to us (100 yards) there is the Calafia hotel...I haven't been there yet, but it's a regular hang out for poker players and has a really great restaurant I have yet to try. Rates can't be bad...I just googled it, and here is the link for anyone wanting to visit!

I appreciate the sentiment, but it's not exactly, nor has it ever been my 'dream' to be forced out of my country to earn a living... :/
It is what it is though, and we do what we have to do to survive.
