But without sounding super elitist or arrogant, I'm just going to say that online poker is still very, very beatable

....Awesome! I cant wait to get back at it. Deciding right now whether to do the American low/Mid grind or just alternate months in Montreal and play a real site. Does anyone play from Cozumel that you have heard of....or are people mostly close to CA playing?

I personally don't know anyone from Cozumel.
Rosarito seems to be the hotbed right now. Over 100 players...maybe closer to 150 players all within about 5-10 miles of each other. It's actually starting to feel like a college atmosphere...people coming and going all the time, selling their monitors and chairs when they leave...getting together for fireworks or a fire pit...I'm pretty happy with being in Rosarito and really happy to be around so many poker players!

It is inexcusable that our citizens have to move out of the country in order to play online poker. In the "Land of the Free" it's disgraceful that we don't have the same rights as citizens of other countries. Hopefully our politicians will get their heads out of their asses soon.

That said, I love Rosarita Beach and that area and I'm glad you have found a great place to live and cool roommates. Once I recover from my knee replacement, I'll be heading your way.

I share your feelings about having to move out of the country to play online poker, we have been here 9 months now, and I am always telling my boyfriend how Mexico feels more like the land of the free, and it is not just because of poker, it is in many other areas of daily living, such as driving around town; we don't feel oppressed like we have to worry about getting pulled over for every little thing. We drove pass the military checkpoint one day, and I was not even thinking about the fact that I had a homemade margarita in the cup holder lol, I was in the passenger seat, but still, I would have been so paranoid if we were in the states.

The US media paints this terrible picture about Mexico, but in 9 months we have had nothing but good experiences here. We walk around town at night, even as late as 11 or 12 pm, with no problems. Last week we decided to walk down to Charles to get some exercise and a bite to eat, it is a little before k38, it was dark when it was time to leave, and we didn't want to walk back, as those roads are dangerous at night, there are no sidewalks and people can't see you, so we took one of those green taxis that the locals use, it costs $1 (we call them buses in the states, but they call them taxis) apparently they will take you all the way to the edge of Rosarito/TJ, for $1. Anyway, we had no problems, and we felt completely safe.

Rylee is loving it here in Mexico. I'm sure she appreciates the beautiful views and breezes, but it's probably more to do with the fact that she goes on multiple dog walks/trips to the dog run each day now. She also has a new buddy in the form of an 8 week old puppy named Morty, and owned by Cyluscylus.

Do you need a passport to visit Mexico nowadays? Or will your DL suffice?

if you take the route from SD to the border i'm pretty sure almost anyone can walk in. All they had us do was push some button then we could walk across to Mexico, unfortunately, I'm not sure if you need a passport to get back into the states, if not then you could prob go that method. Also not sure if other bordering locations are similar, it might be because so many people want to get into Mexico from Cali that they think it'd be too large of a work load to check everyone. And certainly there's probably not too much incs into Mexico you could probably just buy the drugs you want cheaper there haha.

Long time ago Pokerstars email me that a permanent residence was required. all those 150 players just have a mexican bank account and nothing else is required?

I got 2nd place today in Merge's Sunday major, the $109, $100kgtd for $12k...it's my biggest online score to date and my best Sunday by far! Was pretty excited and am still really, really happy!
