Was it hard to get a bank account set up there?

For an account in dollars, you'll need ID and a utility bill with a Mexican address. If you do it, make sure you bring an actual bill (not just the contract that looks like the bill because they won't accept that), and there was a min initial deposit of $1k.

cost of living compared to US?

We are a little further south than everyone else, just past the military checkpoint.

It's tough to give an exact estimate but it's def a lot less. I think we are actually paying more than normal because of the fact that we are Americans and poker players, but it's still a great value for us. Having roommates is also a big plus since we share expenses.

Haha. I'll try to get some more people and activity pics soon, although you know as well as anyone that I'm grinding 10+ hours a day, so I don't do much else. JamieAnn is moving in with me next week though, and a few other heroes have just recently made the move here including cylusballin, czar and chuck bass. I'm sure I'll have some fun pics soon

Picking up one of my best buds, and fellow Grindette, JamieAnn next Thursday in San Diego to head down to Rosarito...she is moving in with me! I should say something like it will be nice to have another girl around all the time, instead of the boys, but I have to admit, my roommates Ben and Clayton are pretty amazing guys and I'm lucky to have them.

I also can't wait for her to get back online and start crushing again; before Jamie and I became friends, I was a huge fan girl of hers and used to rail her final tables on FTP all the time. She always had such fun railbirds chatting it up too in the chat box. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

You should come on down! There is a hotel, actually on our grounds. We live in the Calafia Towers, but next to us (100 yards) there is the Calafia hotel...I haven't been there yet, but it's a regular hang out for poker players and has a really great restaurant I have yet to try. Rates can't be bad...I just googled it, and here is the link for anyone wanting to visit!
