When I was new to poker, I spent a lot of time in womens games, because it was a lot less aggressive, and I don't just mean playstyle.

The games were friendly, I was really new to poker and it seemed like everytime I made a mistake I got insulted for it in regular games.

I always felt welcome and found that it was rare for ladies to use profanities and insult eachother at the table in these games..

Recently I added them to my grinds again.

What happened the past few months? Every time it's quiet, there is little if any friendly chat going on, until someone says something along the lines of..

After losing a coinflip..

I am seeing this evolve and happen more and more in these games and I really don't think I'm imagining this noticeable difference.

I see women attacking other women in chat more in the average game now than I used to in a week ( Playing 8-15 womens games a week ), does anybody have an explanation for this?

I used to encourage any girl interested in poker to play these but now I am feeling turned off by them myself..

There could be several reasons for this. One reason could be that maybe these ladies are not playing many tables, and therefore have more time on their hands/are more focused on each table and then react. I am sure there are lots of women who play the ladies tournaments on Stars but not too many other tournaments. Maybe this means more ladies are playing online poker and are new to the game, thus the poor sportsmanship.

If YOU want to have some friendly chat at the tables and it is quiet then you can always be the one who starts chatting. About insults - it will happen again and again and again. You have to learn to deal with it if it makes you upset. You can not change your opponents reaction to losing money. But you can change your reaction to his/her insults.

The example given is reportable to a chat moderator.

I'm a man but I see this with chat in general, where are the players at the table from? On the mixed-gender tables on pokerstars.com you have 1 German, 2 Brazilians, 2 Russians, 1 Ukranian, 1 Greek and 2 ABCs - and the rules require them to chat in English, which probably more than half of them can't do so easily that its for fun. This is the global player pool.
