Hey guys,

Just thought it was time I wrote something about the person who brought my poker game to another level.

I wrote the following email to Grayson on August 13th 2017:

"Hello,

I saw your thread on 2+2 and If you still take on students, i would be interested to have a couple of hours of coaching to start with...

I am from Belgium and I am a recreational mtt player who has been playing for more than 10 years on and off.

Although I managed to cash a little (biggest: 15k), 2011 was my most 'cashable' year, i do believe I am still a fish. I clearly master some concepts and i manage to often get deep in mtt's, I am a bit of a gambler and I attribute my moderate 'success' (i am still a losing player though) to good runs.

I mainly enjoy MTTs but I have played many SNGs as well.

I never really been involved in forums or poker communities but I am close to some professionals /very good players who have given me advise in the past. I have also read the classics - super system, harrington, Gus hanssen etc.

My goal is not to become a professional and is not to have bankroll lessons. I don't use software and i refuse to do so as it takes away my pleasure for the game.

I am looking for someone to analyse my hands and my play in later stages of tournaments and reduce my leaks for the game.

My screen name: Phanteidos1

I play exclusively on Pokerstars.

Please let me know if you'd be interested in trying me out

Am flexible with hours also. I mainly play on Sunday but now i have more time lately so been playing more.

Thank you,"

Grayson answered directly and since then I have taken lessons with him and 2018 has been my best online poker year so far.
(Check Phanteidos1 on PocketFives)

Grayson understood me directly and knew exactly how to approach the leaks in my game. He managed to fine tune my game instead of changing it completely.
I had never tried learning poker this way and I must say it is the best choice I made in my poker career.
Firstly, Grayson is for me a poker genius, he will question every move you make but he will also question himself all the time and learn from his students because he loves to learn and exchange and his humility allows him to be open minded to any poker decision.

I cannot compare Grayson to other coaches (cause he is the only coach I ever had) but for me, his methods are simple yet super useful...
Grayson was the missing ingredient for me to get better.

I would recommend this amazing person to anyone willing to discuss and learn poker hands with a veteran poker genius who is also an amazing person

Cheers,

Phanteidos1

2019 is already off to an awesome start for my students. Our group has already seen a 3rd place in the Sunday Warm-up for ~$16,000 and a 3rd place in the $530 KO Bounty Builder for over $30,000!

Not only are we seeing some hard work being rewarded on the virtual felt, but one of my students made it to Day 2 of the PCA PSPC $25,000 buy-in tournament in the Bahamas!

Excited to see what else the year has in store for us all. E-mail me at gnichols22@gmail.com if you are interested in setting up a free consultation to see if you'd be a good fit for my team. I'll be adding 1 new student before the month ends.

Look forward to hearing from you all,

Grayson

i've been coach by Grayson around 15 lessons, the lesson is go straight forward, no long theory lesson, no academic information, he focus on find out your leak, and improve your playing style, to make it solid, and play with a more make sense style.
i have a big improvement with MTT online, although i'm still practicing on micro stake, by his good teaching, finally i have taste the feeling of champion on online MTT game, thanks for his coaching, and my lesson with him will keep going on.
If you want to get a reasonable price with good coaching quality, Grayson is your good choice.

Hey guys,

For anyone who is on the fence about taking coaching from Grayson, I'd like to leave a review. I recently decided to start playing poker full time after finishing post secondary and knew I was going to need some form of coaching to guide me along this path.

Previously, I had played poker casually; switching between cash and MTTs. I played micro tourneys, but couldn't crack the higher buy in tourneys. I felt scared playing against aggressive regs and really needed good cards to have deep runs.

I'm about to have my 10th session with Grayson, and I'm thrilled having him as a coach. Within the first five minutes of my first hand history I already learned of one mistake I was making that occurred frequently. As we went through more hand histories I continued plugging leaks and adding tools to my repertoire. Furthermore, I learned how to think about situations, stack sizes, and opponent's perceptions. Nowadays, I'm playing the game differently before I even make an action. I've moved up stakes after a few 4 digit scores and plan to continue doing so as I'm knocking on the door of some larger scores.

Last of all, after my coaching sessions I'm more confident at the tables and am expecting deep runs every time I enter into a tournament. I still have a lot of work and studying to put into poker, but I'm excited to see where it takes me as I work alongside Grayson.

Hi Everyone,

I started taking poker lessons from Grayson in January. I am a recreational poker player thats been playing for 5+ years so I knew the basics and have one over $25k before coming to Grayson but I kept finding myself having to top up my account as I would kill my Bankroll. I took the 25 session package as it was best money for value. I am on my 12th session now (one per week) and I am approaching 10k in winnings! And my investment has paid off already.

Some things to understand:

I took him as a coach hoping to understand the math behind poker and more GTO things and all of it to me was supposed to be formulas and numbers and deep thinking stuff. Grayson is not that type of coach. If that's what you are after he can give that to you because he knows it but his approach is not to bog you down with information that you will use only when you study away from the table. He shows you your leaks breaks down your decision-making processes and makes you question everything that is going on at the table before you start committing chips to the hand and after and helps you understand how to be in the best position possible to make money.

It works!

PS: you will hear it from him if you keep making the same mistakes especially if you can't explain what you were thinking in one situation or another

But that is exactly what you need from a coach who is interested in you succeeding.

Trust and listen you will see how much better you get!

Good luck to all.

Dear community,

My name is Jacobo Martin and play under alias "Mr. Dupino" in PS, I am 28 years old poker player.

Since I decided to make it as pro in November last year, I consider to get a coach straight away to develop and improve my game. Doing some investigation I came up with Grayson on this forum and decided to give it a try.

After 4 months now working with him I can feel gratify to confirm that my game has evolved greatly.

If you are the kind of person that is willing to learn, get questioned, develop nice fundamentals to excel on the poker tables Grayson is the person you are looking for. You will develop a strong table awareness, solid fundamentals and will get asked the right questions so you can improve on a faster way.

Grayson is also familiariez with population tendencies on the online scene at this moment and will help you develop a solid explotative game.

Jacobo,

Hello Everyone:
My name is Glyn Griffis and I am a recreational player. I have been taking lessons from Grayson for 2.5 years. Over this time, we have advanced from fundamentals to concentrating on the leaks in my game. I have a lucrative and fun profession that limits my playing time and requires Grayson and I to often go over prior turf due to my sporadic play. Our long relationship has also allowed Grayson to understand my poker attributes and educate me on how best to exploit them.

I want to thank Grayson for his patience, mentorship and continued confidence in my abilities. I had an opportunity to play four events at HardRock Tampa last month which led to my best result so far. I placed 8th in the $360 buyin Deepstack Challenge with 889 entries, and I played in the Poker Classic Series placing 21st in the $360 buyin with 1,128 entries and TID with no chop the $570 buyin with 287 entries for winnings of over $42,000 for the month.

Grayson thanks again for investing your time and knowledge. It is greatly appreciated.

In online news, one of my best students was able to win the Spartan Poker Main Event this past Sunday for $20,000+. We are gaining some momentum going into the WSOP and the summer online grind, e-mail me if you are interested in joining the team!

We will be adding one new student by the end of April and perhaps 1 more before the WSOP. Which speaking of, I will also be releasing my own WSOP course in the upcoming weeks, DM or e-mail me for more information.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update my old recommendation. Grayson was the guy that got me over some major hurdles when I was first getting into poker – he was able to get me from a breakeven/losing small stakes player to a solid winner in the midstakes games, which I feel is one of the biggest jumps to take in the game.

While I don't think we've had a formal lesson schedule in the past year or two we still talk frequently and I 100% believe he is one of the nicest dudes in poker. As a coach he is emotionally invested in your wins, losses and overall swings as a player and will help you sort through them as they come. I had the biggest downswing of my career at the beginning of this year and Grayson talked with me for about an hour about how to approach it and handle it mentally, which says a lot about how he approaches coaching. The fact that hes willing to give up a random hour to talk with a student about that is something I doubt you'll find from many coaches that have a large number of students.

The same thing was true when I turned it around and rode a heater for a few months, along the way I binked a venetian $600 for $41k and Grayson was one of the first people to congratulate me. Anyway, if you're in a similar spot that I was, and you're looking for someone to get you over those hurdles while being genuinely invested in your progress, Grayson's your guy.

Hello, my name is Adas. I am from Lithuania, 28 years old. I had been playing professionally in past, now kinda working- and playing after work / and weekends fully. Basically i was looking for a coach to improve, and i met Grayson. I took 12 hours of coaching course , and it was very good decision by me. Thought that coaching will be kinda "dry' with lot of theory stuff to correct and etc, but it was different thing ! He is very innovative and also very creative with spots , that causes him to go for an exploitative approach , what we all need to improve of crushing whole field. He came up with different ideas with every lesson , that i dont really think about it (was kinda lot of good strategies "OUT of the box" . I very much enjoyed that. I really recommend you this coach for you guys.

PS : If you think you were/are good , wait until you will met Grayson lol !

Good luck in tables !

Hi all new old and future students!
Thought I reach out specially to players who never had coaching and are thinking about having lesson and hiring a coach. I think it’s important to know what you are trying to accomplish when you hire a poker coach, you have to be realistic in your approach, not even the best coach in the world is going to turn you in to world class player overnight. I have had three coaches in my life, the first one was a cash game coach so we can discount him a little bit, the second coach was a tournament coach and although good I did have some trouble of understanding his explanations at times. The third one is the one I’m with now, we have had 6 lessons so far and it has been great, Grayson is the type of coach that will not give you an answer to a problem or a hand, he rather asks you small lead question so you can arrive to the right answer yourself, this is of course slower than just telling you the right answer straight away but what this process accomplishes is that you use the correct thought process and that makes it stick in your brain so you can ask yourself the right questions while you play yourself.
After 3 lessons I managed to get third in an 11€ tourney for 400€, week after that I got 7th in the same tourney and last week I got 3rd in the same tourney again, so after 6 lesson I have run my account up from 200€ that I deposited on 888 to almost 1100€ but the biggest scores of all actually came in a live tournament where I got third as well funny enough, it was the CNP888 tournament in Alicante, Spain where I got it in with 88 vs J8 against the chip leader and still lost but it was a 550€ entry fee and I got 15000€. There were several spots that came up that I would have played completely different if it wasn’t for Grayson coaching me and I’m looking forward to keep working with him. One thing I would like to mention is that I’m not a poker pro nor am I aspiring to be one, I enjoy the game and like to play but as with all games or sports it’s no fun when you lose all the time and although I manage to min cash a lot my goal isn’t / wasn't to min cash. even when you min cash like me between 25 and 30% you are still a losing player and that’s why I decided to take lessons, you will see the difference a few tweaks here and the there will make. One last thing, if you decide to hire a coach which I highly recommend you do, don’t just buy one lesson, get a package, an absolute minimum of 5, 10 is even better or do like me and go all in and get the best deal offered, buy 20 and get 5 free. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
Good luck and please post in the forum how you get on.
Sincerely,
Manuel.

Hey Guys here's my view on working with Grayson.

I started working with Grayson at the beginning of July this year and he was a big influence in improving my game. He completely changed my way of viewing the game and introduced me to the many perspectives of the game and how to approach spots from different angles. Result wise, I had two big scores with each more than 10k winnings. One buy-in of this was a 66 dollar tournament I took down and the other one was a 215 dollar tournament that I won. At the start of this month I played a 550 dollar buy-in live tournament and managed to take it down for about 30k. I have to thank Grayson a lot because he really helped me to grow and become a better player. I feel he is genuinely interested in improving my game and he has a very positive mindset and is encouraging aswell. Additionally, Grayson is very open to listening to my thoughts how I would play a hand and is very skilled in breaking down why it may not be the optimal play. In conclusion, I can genuinely recommend Grayson if you really want to improve your game.
