I wanted to venture into low buy-in MTTs and decided to contact Grayson for coaching.
I purchased two sessions and was very pleased with my investment (even with all the hype from this thread). He was on-time with his commitments, clear in his instructions, and helped me realize my thought process was incomplete and robotic.

MTTs are now more challenging, rewarding, and finding new lines to stack people is really fun. I still make a lot of the same mistakes when I have gaps in concentration, but I am noticing in the notes from every MTT I play that I am making them less frequently.

My first purchase after a good score will definitely be some hours of Grayson telling me how badly I played.

Price: 10/10
Helpfulness: 10/10

I have had about 12-15 sessions with Nichols. Prior to working with him I worked with 3 different coaches, and I can confidently say that as a coach Nichols is superior
to all of them. He has a very detailed way of describing why the mistakes you are making are costing you money in the long run, but in an easy way that I think any somewhat
skilled poker player will understand. He also seems to understand the mindset behind the mistakes you make, which also helps a great deal.
After the first session I started thinking differently about poker, and now it seems that every time I play a MTT I will at least
cash, if not go very deep. If you have considered getting coaching I would without hesitation go with Nichols. He is very positive, easy to talk to and has a great
mind for poker, and teaching. And at these prices its an absolute bargain.

Hey guys,
They say when a student is ready the teacher appears and that is exactly what happened in my case.. i was aimlessly approaching my career and wasting all the opportunities presented to me by poker.. My dear friend Karan Radia(BEAST) suggested i take lessons from grayson and i found the right direction ever since... i am super confident with my game now.. grayson does not impose any confusing theories on you ,he helps you embrace your natural instincts and strategic acumen...Hes super friendly and easy to talk to...i do not want to praise myself but even my friends from the poker world who i respect so much tell me i have improved so much ever since ive started working with grayson(so grateful),so if you are considering to get yourself a coach and improving your game then you just got lucky by finding this post! GL speak soon Grayson!
Thankyou for everything!! lots of love and respect

Hi folks! This thread has been rather inspiring. Like most people here I've been daydreaming about paying for a coach for some time, but haven't really known how to go about it. I've decided to put some money aside to eventually pull the trigger and take that leap.

I noticed the thread was opened in 2014, and a lot has changed. Can you tell me if the rates are still the same as before?

$100/hour for 1-3 hours, $85/hr for 5 hours, $75/hr for 10 hours, $65/hr for 20+
Appreciate ya.

After only two months of coaching with Grayson my game has improved in ways I didn't think were possible. I'm not sure how I was ever a winning player before working with him. I had so many leaks. Now I am even more of a winning player and I truly owe it all to him.

He explains the methodology behind how he has won millions in the last decade and helps you apply it to your game. If you made a mistake, he will definitely let you know about it in a constructive way.

Overall he's a super nice dude and easy to get along with. Very flexible when it comes to scheduling, and I'm very happy I chose to reach out to him.

Had the pleasure working with him past year. Really good knowledge of the game and gave me lots of new tools. We did mostly hand reviews from my marked hands. I would definitely recommend him if you want to improve your game to a new level.

Thanks for reaching out, shoot me a message on e-mail at gnichols22@gmail.com and we can chat more about potentially setting up some coaching.

To answer your question broadly for all to see, I typically look to chat with a person briefly via e-mail/Skype messaging to see how we might get along and work together, then if there's any availability on my roster I'm often able to take on the new student. As to what I'm looking for in a potential student, mostly someone who is keen to learn and willing to think outside of the box (hard workers are encouraged). My hopes aren't to teach you WHAT to do, rather teach you how to think in difficult situations.

Really impressed with some of the guys who have reached out recently and excited to hear from more of you. WSOP season is just around the corner so post in thread/DM me or e-mail (gnichols22@gmail.com) and we can talk.

Some questions you might be asking yourself when considering whether to get lessons from Grayson might be:

Is he better than other coaches who charge similar rates?
Definitely, Grayson goes above and beyond to meet any and all expectations you would have from a coach, from answering your questions in a manner you understand clearly, helping you deal with the mental side of poker, encouraging you to improve and develop your game and just being a good guy in general, Grayson's the friend you didn't realise you needed and from the very beginning I always felt like Grayson's #1 priority was and is his students.

Is he as genuine and understanding as he comes across in his posts?
Without a doubt! Grayson gauges your skill level from lesson #1 and goes from there, he identifies gaps in your poker knowledge and explains your leaks and misunderstandings in such a way that you can nearly hear his voice in your head when you're playing at the tables analyzing your hands. He customizes your lessons based on you individually and makes every effort to keep on top of you making sure you're developing and doing well. From lesson #1 it's incredibly clear how dedicated Grayson is to his students and I personally don't think you can overvalue how important that is for your success.

Can he lead me to the success in MTTs that I want to attain?
Within 4 lessons with Grayson I won my first tourney for €1600 and before my 6th lesson I'd won two more micro MTTs making an additional €500. Prior to my lessons with Grayson my total cashes over 3 months amounted to <€150 so it's clear to see how beneficial he is right from the start.

Is he committed to his students?
I challenge you to find somebody more committed to their students than Grayson, day or night he'll respond to your messages about anything and everything. From hand analysis to mental issues, bankroll queries, stake queries or even if you're just running deep in a big tourney and he's not coaching you can be sure he'll pull up your table and keep an eye on the action and give you help on the fly.

In summary, yes Grayson is the coach for you, put in the work and the hours and listen to what he says and you're all but guaranteed to succeed.

Thanks for all your help so far man, I've enjoyed and learned from every minute you've spent mentoring me.

Just wanted to chime in with my feedback as a current student, and also to thank Grayson for all his help improving my game! For plugging my leaks and bettering my game, i figure the least I could do is provide a short review of his service..

I came across Grayson while considering coaches after deciding to take a more constructive approach to learning poker. As a self-taught player, I had been trying to further my learning by reading from articles and watching videos/twitch. Although I learned many useful things this way, something was still noticeably lacking in my game. This is, I think, the biggest benefit of personal coaching… Unlike videos or training sites that cater to the general masses, or cover specific topics, coaching sessions with Grayson provide thorough, personalized critique on leaks, mistakes and mental game.

As a coach, Grayson has a brilliant poker mind as well as a clear and concise way of analyzing hands. He is logical and thorough, with a masterful way of thinking through hands and arriving at optimal lines using deductive reasoning . Prior to coaching, I thought that there were just specific areas of my game holding me back... but within the first session it was very apparent that I had many more leaks in my game and needed to build a much stronger foundation. Addressing those leaks and reviewing many tough spots, has fundamentally changed the way I think about the game… For anyone considering coaching, you really can't find a better coach (or a nicer person) than Grayson... and definitely not at a better value than he offers!

Hey Grayson,

I've been playing casually for about 8 years now. I've dabbled in playing online but playing live games have been where I am at my best. Recently, I have run into quite a rut and I am definitely in need of a poker coach. By the looks of everyone on here, they have nothing but great things to say, and would love to talk strategy for MTT. My email is greenwood.thomas@yahoo.com

Hope to talk soon!

Hey everyone,

I just finished 10 sessions with Grayson. It was a pleasure getting coached from successful MTT grinder. He has also developed me as a player and as a person.
From the first week after our session I made deep runs in various tournaments at my stakes.

I had couple coaches in the past, but they simply could not be compared to Grayson, he was organized and articulate with each concept, which no one should have difficulties understanding. He also pointed out leaks I didn't even know I had and it made huge difference to the way I exploited players in similar spots.

If you find this thread I'd consider you lucky instead of buying the other MTT courses out there. You basically want to learn, think and apply correctly and Grayson is the perfect coach for it.

gl to everyone and thank me later!

After adding a new student this week, my roster is full leading up to the WSOP Main Event. Once I get home from Vegas, I'll be looking to add 1 new student per month starting in July. I've also decided to try out a new policy, and am instituting a free 30-minute consultation for prospective students. This will not be a sample lesson, but rather an opportunity for us to chat with each other and see if we'd work well together (the student/coach relationship is something serious and those who haven't been in the situation would be hard pressed to understand) You'll be able to ask me any questions and get a feel for if I'm the right fit for the coach you're looking for, and I encourage you to bring a couple hands to the lesson for us to discuss so you can get a glimpse of my process.

Feel free to post in here, PM me, or e-mail me at gnichols22@gmail.com if you're interested in coaching and we can schedule the consultation. I will be meeting with prospective students before I leave for Vegas, however I won't decide on taking on any new students until after the Main Event. Serious inquiries only please.

Can DM me on Twitter as well at- https://twitter.com/the_dean221 or if you want to follow along the WSOP Main Event ride.

Look forward to hearing from you all,

Grayson
