Hi guys,

Just wondering what stakes regs a making a living playing Regular and Turbo HUSNG's Not Hypers, i couldn't find a thread about this and did see someone mention you could not make enough playing the $7 games in the beginners thread.

I average about 80 games a day

Can I just calculate games played say 80 a day which roughly = 2400 per month x ROI?

So if a player is winning 5% ROI this would mean 2400 x say $30 games = $72,000 at a 5% ROI = $3600 earnings per month

is this right?

as said, depends on where you live and how much money you need. take your volume and ROI, pick a stake level and do the math like in your 30$ example to see if that's enough money for you. also remember that you can't withdraw everything you make or you're going busto, and don't put volume that you won't be able to maintain because the traffic is too low at the intended stake, or you'd be putting in an unsustainable amount of hours

Depends on what your monthly volume is, I think is what you should do is find out what your average $ per game / winrate (read winrate, not roi as roi gets better as you move up due to rake). I think you need to make sure you 1)Have savings like 3 or 4 months worth before starting so swings wont affect your play , 2) If your making, for example, $2 a game , make you estimate for worse case scenario, so estimate making $0.75/$1 a game and aim to hit volume every month.

I think a fair estimate would be around $2,000 a month pre rb in most places (excluding your canada's etc). If you follow what I said you should never run into problems and make sure its really what you want, once you start down this path this is your career.

If you only just wanted to know numbers, ignore my ramblings!

What i am really trying to ask is this (bad English sorry)

Basically i been playing poker ~5 years busting my roll over and over using poor BRM, the longest i kept my roll intact was 4 months where i played HUPLO and HUNL upto 400 but again i jumped to 5-10 10-20 with only 50-60k and busted my roll again playing scared money just getting bored at 400.

So being the degan i am and always knowing i need at least 100 BI for HUNL and 200 plus for HUPLO and that BRM is most important part of poker but i never stick to it BRM myself.

So this time i wanted to use PROPER BRM say 100 BI for HUSNG i know its likely too much but I'm more trying to learn and become a Bankroll nit.

I got a job lined up February and only have a spare $800 i can deposit for poker that's it, so i thought i try using BRM and see if i can move up in stakes sticking to it for once, and maybe not have take on the job as its nothing special.

Obviously i want to win and move up as fast as i can but more importantly i just wanna stick to proper BRM, i really respect/admire others that do.

So basically that's why i asked about playing $7 HUSNGS and was wondering if anyone has actually used a 100 BRM rule or something similar and moved up starting at $7 or is it not really double

Like i said my main aim here is to play and stick to a 100 Bankroll Rule as breaking this rule eventually leads to busto, well for me it does anyway.

Thanks

I never used HM or PT previously as i played only on one site Hu and basically just made notes a lot on players playing my stake, but that said i have bought HM2 and am using it now for session reviews.

@JSpazz I don't need to withdraw money so any winning will be just going towards my Bankroll.

If you don't need to withdraw then you aren't playing for a living.. ?

Although everyone has a different BRM and I have been quite aggressive with my own BRM, 100 BI for turbos seems like an overkill to me. If I had $800 I would be grinding $30 turbos, if not $60s. That's still ~30 BI, and with careful game selection you shouldn't have much problem with it.

However, it all boils down to what your priority is. If you want to move up asap, by all means stick to aggro BRM and be prepared to move up and down fluidly. If your main concern is not going busto, however, you might want to apply a more conservative BRM, say 50 BI for turbos. At any rate, 100 BI for turbos might be a bit too nitty, especially at lower stakes.

As for your original question, again it depends on a couple of things, but I think it's fair to assume that you can make 5-6 BI on average if you play 80 games. I wonder where people come up with $60 from, that's like 8+ BI at $7s and 10%+ ROI, which is rather unrealistic.

^

I think ppl posting "60" mean "you have to play at least 60s to make a living" and not "you can make $60 per 80 game at 7s"
