Ok, so from start to finish:

15 years old, I go to 'presedentials classroom' in washington, DC, kids are playing some 1c / 5c / 10c games of poker, ive NEVER played in my life, have no @!)+$*n clue whats going on, but rape those donks for like $10, then some other kids were ballin braggin about playin w/ $1s, and I was like ZOMG, F Them, got in that game, hit n ran them for like $45, and BOOM, I had a roll!!!! haha, so then I went a bought a Georgetown hoodie (sweatshirt, we were staying at Georgetown for the thing)and I still have it to this day and it's always been a piece of pride to me of the first thing I ever bought from poker

anyways, as I left, a friend told me about Pokerstars.com. I was skeptical, but after he convinced me on AIM, I depo'd $50 and jumped into some small stakes cash and $5 Sit n Gos. busto'd my roll after a few days when I moved up early to $10s after I lost a few (basically trying to martingale), and was kinda roughed up, $50 was alot to me. I bought some poker books and read like... 1 chapter, and said F this, and depo'd again... which I then ran up to like $110 or $120, and busted again. I took a week off or so, read another chapter or two, said if I lost my 3rd $50 depo i'd finish the books and take a few months off of poker, won it up to $80 or so, and binked an MTT for $800, and have gone off that ever since.

So my poker roll grows, I have NO clue of BR management, any of that, nobody else I talk to about poker, just myself in a shell tryin to be a baller.

around age 16/17 I'm 4 tabling 5/10 NL ($1,000 buy in) online, and playing $200 and $500 HU SNGs (out of no where, no clue what made me play them). So anyways, WAYYY under rolled, have 8-10k in Stars, end up losing 3k in like 30 min at 5/10, losing AA 4 times in 30 min (ZOMGGGGGG, I remember how upset I was about this at the time), and then -BBJ- stomped me for a ton of BIs at $200s in HU SNG. So this threw me on UBER tilt I cashed out most of the rest of my roll (maybe down to $400 or $800 or something) and went back to low stakes for a few yrs.

Made good $$$ at the end of highschool, enough that I didnt get any real jobs, but like $3-6k in a summer was sick $$$ to me, went to college, was playing randomly and doing OK, but cashing out almost all of it and not really moving up.

College I won the $22 HU matches a few times, but never really play HU SNGs that much, just messed around w/ MTTs and 9man SNGs and whatever else. I got a computer science job while in school cause it was 'good for my resume', and then one day at work found Indy's brag post (^^see earlier posts for this story^^).

Indy starts staking me at $11 HU SNGs, I do a few stakes for him at $11s and $22s netting a few hundred, and he buys me HU SNG coaching from Cwar (GOD to me at the time) at the end of every stake. I bink a $11 MTT for $5500 or $6k and Indy tells me i'm better off on my own and 'sets me free'.

I cash out a bunch and buy a new computer, but move up in stakes super quickly and am soon playing $115s. Play them pretty regularly for a while, have a few nights where I drop a TONNN at them and a couple days where I was crushing 115s/230s but chased fishes into 550s and lost a few grand. Pretty back and forth, pays for stuff, but nothing substantial, but im paying for bills and living better than most other people my age.

Go to budapest for a semester of school, start crushing HU Cash (randomly) and HU SNGs up to 230s and 550s, but then break up w/my Ex-gf and the new girl im interested in (wife now**) had her bf in our apartment that week and was in the 'break up' phase w/him, but not completely, and that life tilted the #@!)+$*@!*)+ out of me, and I played like a million games in that 1 week, and dropped like 18k.

Anyways, I was FURIOUS at myself that I could ever do something like that, so I cash out all the rest of my $$$ down to $600... I start January, 08 planning to turn over a new leaf and rebuild my roll.

Make it to 55s, play in WCOOP HU Event and get top 16 for $5500, by May im about ready for $115s. Anyways, move to vegas, talk w/ cwar a TON, live w/hokie and grind $100 & $115 4mans before it was even cool to do so, move back from vegas, drop out of school officially, move to Montpellier, France w/my gf

Start talking to croixdawg, sifosis, dibasio, M@D@M@D@D@NE alot online, CRUSH HU

august, 12.5k (110s / 220s and in the end 330s)
Sept. 17.5k (almost all 220s/330s)
Oct... SCAMMED FOR 30k (primo = busto)
borrow 5k from a good friend
November 35k (220s all the way up to 550s at the end)

Then came december... I was crushing, everything was good, -14k day, DEVASTATING to me, I was super torn up about it, again, cashed out, dropped down, yadda yadda, first losing month ever for -5500 (whatever, not a HUGE deal after coming off a 35k month)

since then it's been like, I was +10k in January, last 3 days I dropped 8500 to end +1500... wow that blows... 2 bad months in a row

Feb. I dropped to 220s mostly, +9500 or so

March, 220s and some 330s, +10.5k

April, crushing, crushing, 220s mostly, +15k... oops, -8k day right at the end followed by a few -2k days, ended +6.5k

May... needed $$$ for life, engagement ring, immigration papers, etc., etc., etc., drop down to $115s, doing pretty well overall, but still... making money and constantly moving backwards... wtf?

you ever feel bad winning money from someone in poker? i know i shouldn't be but this only occurred to me this week; i've played a big fish (-340k down on sharkscope solid slope; most ftp players 200+ will know him i guess) and i just raped him for like 2k in 30 minutes or less... seriously, this guy can play vs a duck and lose or something wtf
i talked to a 220 reg on aim and he said "yeah it's really sad i have like 12 notes on him and it's like following an instruction manual" which explains villain perfectly
you ever had an experience like that? like you just wanted to stop because you fealt pitty for your opponent?

I dont think I have ever stopped because of this, I have def. felt this before, but typically rationalized it w/myself by saying that it's easy to be a HUGE degen in a casino over like 1 day, and lose ur house at craps or something, but online poker has depo limits, people bleed out their $$$ over time, they know what they are getting into, and most of them who have families or something, there is plenty of time for someone to notice and get them to stop before it spiraled TOO far out of control, so I assume most of the people who are on there losing that much, the $$$ doesnt mean an insane amount of them, and tbh most can 'afford' to lose it, or at least have enough $$$ to get high on the risk of gambling so much
