Croix question for you,

do you think online poker is drying up or growing due to international appeal? will we all be able to make $$$ for another 2-3 years?

I can't recall if we played once or twice. I'm pretty sure he got my AIM from someone and we started talking a little bit on there. We did play some 4mans together before FTP cracked down on them. I wasn't really watching him play in those 4s so I don't know too much about how he plays, but he has really good stats which would make me think hes pretty good. What do you think of his game and have you played him?

I love zombie movies and the whole concept of a zombie apocalypse..so yeah this might be worth checking out.

I've also heard great things about Ender's Game. I actually just have to get off of my ass and start reading some of these. Thanks for the suggestions!
I remember Cat's Cradle being my favorite Vonnegut book not featuring Billy Pilgrim. I really like the premise and the literary device in World War Z , but was about 75 pages to long IYAM, definitely worth a read. Max Brooks has another book called "Zombie Survival guide" or some **** which is pretty hilarious.

Beat of a lifetime, but still obviously the biggest supporter. Gonna have to dig up one of several 3 outers hit en route to that 3rd place finish.

Sucks… it was pretty fun. Bad time to go bust. You got game 7 of Stanley Cup though so I guess that evens things out.

Wow thanks buddy!

It actually is unbelievably helpful. If you can find someone (a roommate or whoever) who is at a similar skill level, you can just learn and excel from one another very fast. If you are chopping games, especially, you are really invested in the other’s results and will work just as hard to improve your game as you will theirs. And at the end of the day, you’ll both become significantly better players.

I think it’s safe to say that neither of us would have had quite the success we’ve had without working together to improve in all aspects of poker whether husng strategy, money management, or game selection. It really was seen as a team effort and either one of us succeeding was a win for the team.

I’m in the materials science & engineering department. Work with the DSSC. I’m going to take a shot in the dark… you are ECE or Computer Science? You still in pgh, qdmcg?

LOL! Speaking of the car… I had to bail it out last night while helping with the move. He left the lights, 4-ways, and phone charger all on for over half an hour while we moved **** into his new apt.

Say “I’m lucky to have you around, Vinny.”

I'll have to put some croix stories together soon myself to contribute to the well once i'm caught up...

Vinny

No I haven't played him yet. Just don't see the point in sitting vs someone with an impressive graph like that, he plays reg speeds as well and I just love the fast turbo structure too much. I've been talking to him on aim more as well lately... I've watched him play though and his game looked pretty solid.

Oh yeah, why do you sometimes sit $1k turbo's? I usually see you sitting on the reg speeds but you're waiting on turbo's from time to time as well. Lack of action at both sites or a different reason?

I think more recently it is drying up. It was almost impossible not to after how big the poker boom was. That being said I still think there are alot of players and the sites are doing a good job of trying to promote it overseas and bring in more and more foreign players. Alot of it depends on if they legalize online in the United States. If so, it will be easy to deposit again and there will be alot more live money than there is currently. I still think in HUSNGs we are at a big advantage getting alot of bad players to play us. They will lose in a cash session or MTT and say 'I can get it back right here if I play this kid and beat him'. For us long term against these players it is like printing money and as long as the international scene doesn't dry up too much, I think we can all make good money for the next 2-3 years.

Yeah, I liked Cat's Cradle alot. I remember hearing about the Zombie Survival Guide. I thought they were making it into a movie sometime soon? Maybe it was just a good review given from a friend.

The guide is really just a practical handbook on how to deal with Zombies i.e. no real plot, I could see WWZ being a movie quite easily.

I have another question. Which country has the most fishy players Italy, Russia, Brazil, or Portland OR?

Any action I get on FTP is usually pretty good action so I'm looking for the maximum volume possible. It is really tough to play on Stars with all of the regs sitting at all times of the day and me not wanting to watch to see when a 5 second opening to register comes up. I'm friends with most of those guys so I don't want to play them or ask them if they can get up, so FTP has become my main site for now.

Wow...I would probably have to say Brazil because off the top of my head I can't think of any decent players from there. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand cue a downswing from a random from Sao Paulo.

People of the world, we must not forget zombies are people just like you and me. Some call them the living dead. This is not a politically correct term. They are and should be called the living impaired. As such they should eligible for government care during these trying times. Zombies find it hard to maintain work due to their condition and require special care.

Please buy the book The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. If you are a zombie, or you or a loved one is suffering from the onset of zombitosis. This book is a must read. It will help you learn how to cope with your or a loved one's condition. Don't wait. Buy it now.

Update: I have just been informed that the Zombie Survival Guide is in fact a book on KILLING ZOMBIES! Do not under any circumstances buy this book! You or your loved one with zombitosis may break into a fit of rage and hurt those around you. This book should be banned because it teaches racial intolerance! Do you see how zombies are treated with disgust and hatred?

I know what you are thinking. What can I do to help these poor souls? First of all, don't feel sorry for them. Accept them into society. They are people too. Remind them of this fact every time you see one lurching down the street, or hiding in a dark alley. I know they will appreciate the gesture.

Hey Croix,

First off, thanks for doing this. Its awesome.

I've got a few questions:
1. When you were moving up stakes what percentage of your time was split up with putting in hands, and talking strategy on 2p2 forums. Was getting a ton of hands in more important?

2. Do you listen to music when you play? If so, whatd u like?

3. Do you only play when u play ur A game, or do u feel anytime u have an edge, you have got to play?

4. Is having a close nit group of friends who u think like u do in poker and not just ppl who play for fun extremely important in your development of a player?

Thanks man.

I hate to say it but a shotgun isn't the best or even close to the best weapon for killing zombies.

1)How many Kills per minute you think you could make with a shotgun vs. a just some random ****ty 16 round hand gun...
2) at close range a shotgun will only kill him if you severely damage his brain--hard to be that accurate with a shotgun when shooting from the hip.
3) bad range-at a distance a shotgun is practically useless.
4) how much amo can you carry around vs. a more practical weapon.

I would much prefer a kitana to a shotgun. lightweight, guaranteed a kill if you chop their head off (easy to do with a little practice), no ammo to lug around, relatively good KPM. And if you have some light weight bite proof clothes to go along with this your all set.

So maybe work on your swordplay?

pft. failure. when the zombies come I def don't want you on my team.

Shotgun/Chainsaw combo. Must have chainsaw skillz to make this combo work most effectively. Don't want some WoW player melting down on me w/ a sword.

evidence:

oh. nice well croix. most enjoyable. thanks for doing it etc etc... Shawshank is one of my fav films. Love the reading tips here. I'll 2nd the dark tower books. I read them all over the course of about 15 years though. 1st is def quick and easy read to see what it's about.
