You mention not wanting to move up to higher stakes such as 2ks/5ks despite being one of the top HU players. Have you been approached in regard to being staked for these games and is this something that interests you?

How embarassed will you be when the Steelers lose to the Browns this year?

When I lived in Squirrel Hill...Silky's there was my spot. I love bar shuffleboard and it was just a really chill spot. The year before that when I lived in Oakland, Garage Door was the place. We thought we were badasses drinking out of those plastic pitchers and indeed we were. This year I live in Shadyside and I love going to William Penn Tavern. We usually get pretty ridiculous drinking John Daly's and they have that sweet outside area. Another solid spot is Shenanigan's in North Hills. We used to get a bar trivia team together there every tuesday and its a good vibe/time always.

Ehh..I wouldn't really want to be staked too much beacuse I would feel bad if I got into deep makeup and would rather just play what I want when I want. I haven't been approached by anyone to be staked and I would 99% turn it down unless they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Not too much..I'll know if it happened it was a total fluke and will just watch some past super bowl footage to make me feel better. Maybe the browns can win 7 games this year!

I think my favorite vonnegut book is a toss up between breakfast of champions, sirens of titen and that one where the guy freezes the earth with ice-9. IDK they all get mushed together after awhile. Galapagos is the one that got me hooked on him. You should definately check that one out if you haven't.

FYI stephen king wrote shawshank redemption... his non horror is actually quite good in particular the gunslinger series...but its quite the read (7ish huge books).

World War Z; an oral history of the zombie wars (this definitely fueled my obsession with the impending zombie attack)

survivor (chuck palahnuk, wrote fight club)

and some dorky scifi stuff like
Enders game (whole series is pretty good)
the dune series (i like the newer ones more)

Beat of a lifetime, but still obviously the biggest supporter. Gonna have to dig up one of several 3 outers hit en route to that 3rd place finish.

Sucks… it was pretty fun. Bad time to go bust. You got game 7 of Stanley Cup though so I guess that evens things out.

Wow thanks buddy!

It actually is unbelievably helpful. If you can find someone (a roommate or whoever) who is at a similar skill level, you can just learn and excel from one another very fast. If you are chopping games, especially, you are really invested in the other’s results and will work just as hard to improve your game as you will theirs. And at the end of the day, you’ll both become significantly better players.

I think it’s safe to say that neither of us would have had quite the success we’ve had without working together to improve in all aspects of poker whether husng strategy, money management, or game selection. It really was seen as a team effort and either one of us succeeding was a win for the team.

I’m in the materials science & engineering department. Work with the DSSC. I’m going to take a shot in the dark… you are ECE or Computer Science? You still in pgh, qdmcg?

LOL! Speaking of the car… I had to bail it out last night while helping with the move. He left the lights, 4-ways, and phone charger all on for over half an hour while we moved **** into his new apt.

Say “I’m lucky to have you around, Vinny.”

I'll have to put some croix stories together soon myself to contribute to the well once i'm caught up...

Vinny

I haven't read Galapagos but will try to within the next few months.

I've heard great things about the Gunslinger/Dark Tower series seven books just seems liek such a daunting task for me. Maybe I'll read the first and get hooked.

I love zombie movies and the whole concept of a zombie apocalypse..so yeah this might be worth checking out.

I've also heard great things about Ender's Game. I actually just have to get off of my ass and start reading some of these. Thanks for the suggestions!

Regular stakes are 500s through 1100s. Lately I've been playing some 2200s, but usually stick with my normal games.

Those on the first page of the SS leaderboard are really good. There are alot of pretty good regulars.

I've thought about it and don't want to rule it out..but as of now probably not. If I get into a phase of boredom with HUSNGs and am curious how I would fare in cash I may, just don't see that happening.
