I once learned how to play connect four perfectly. I had a spontaneous collapsed lung when I was 17 (not a level), a 1 in 10,000 shot for tall skinny people.

Playing sports, watching sports. I'm a big fan of the hike+picnic combination.

Hmm. I might not be the best person to ask as an American, especially with regard to moving outside the US for poker reasons. I loved Switzerland when I was there but impractical in many ways. I would have said Australia but not sure based on their political situation.

46/9 = 5,1 (46 we know, 9 is our outs). 5,1*150 = 765. we have to won 315chips more on riv to make it 0EV. It is correct?
So basically we hit about 20% of the time. Most people mean implied odds like "how much do I need to get paid off if I hit if I always win nothing when I don't". Basically you need your expectation the pot to be the same as folding the turn, which would be -150 from the start of the hand. So 80% of the time you are -300, when you call and miss. 20% of the time you win some amount x. (.8)(-300) + (.2)(x) = -150. Solving for x gets you +450, which means we need to make another 150 chips on the river when we hit on average.

Now that you say you can´t tell that I want to know it even more.

What does a slightly bigger raise accomplish other than tilt people? (well, thats huge already, but I mean from a strategical point of view)

Did poker ever bore you for a long period of time? If so, aren't you more afraid about this job doing that? (Sounds highly boring in write-up)

What did you really think when I offered my advice, back when you were losing while 3-tabling $50s?

Yeah my name is out there for those who know it/want to find it. I only want to reward the really dedicated creepers.

sejje, you were super key in my development. I put the odds at better than evens that you kick my ass in pool and I get you a drink someday.

It's not that I can't tell or anything like that, it's no big secret. It's just not proper to spell everything out when someone asks a question like that about two specific opponents. Just think through how it changes the math of calling and jamming, how you'd adjust because of that, and how your adjustments would change with changing opening frequencies.

Thanks for doing this

How many HUSNG have you played since you started it ?

An idea of the ratio time you spent on 2+2/playing ?

If poker had never existed, what could you have done instead ?

Do you see yourself doing finance for the rest of your life? If no, how long?

About 30k. Dunno about ratio, but at least my bankroll is higher than my post count! If poker had never existed, I'm sure my life would be pretty dramatically different. Probably teaching middle school right now but who knows.

I would guess not. I have no idea how long, way too early to say.

When playing 6 tables at the same time how do you position the tables. Are they all over the screen or do you stack them one on top of the other.

When 6 tabling how do you concentrate of getting reads? Or do you mostly look at your HUD?

I would like to see your EV graph for Reg/Turbos/Super turbos/Total.

Hi, Mers, this is sxteenclrdeck calling.

1. Are russians fishes at poker in general? Any good russian reg you played against?
2. What are your favourite reg's poker screennames? (that you like; funny or interesting etc)

What branch of mathematics most interests you?
Desert island album, movie, book?
Do you own a silver hammer?
Wanna get a drink sometime when you're in Chicago?

I actually use a really weird overlap scheme. Others have told me it's really tilting to watch.

6 tabling is mostly autopilot except for the basics of opening % really. I pretty rarely 6 table.

They're all huge fishes. If I were Russian, I'd be really paranoid to make sure that nobody ever knew that was my nationality.

In all seriousness, yes, there are good Russian players. On this note, I'll give a quick "privet pokeroff!" to the guys over there, it's a good community

Hmm. I don't know. I'm sure rumnchess and I starting to be friends couldn't have been hurt by the fact that I liked that name.

Never had good answers for these cliches tbh, so I'll answer without the desert island part (otherwise these answers would make for very depressing listening/reading/watching). Favorite album is probably New Moon by Elliott Smith, favorite movie Good Will Hunting, currently have no real favorite book. I'm in the middle of The Psychopath Test, which is pretty good.

Spamzor, Lagdonk are my fav. guys to learn from, you are #3. You have a very straightforward way of describing situations and get beyond the BS very well..

Always thought u were gay. I guess being with 1 woman (is this really true?) means u are straight, or maybe bi (but u r not sure yet..?). I will say, relationships r cool but I like one-night stands just as much..value in both, u know?

Good luck with your new career...

1. How much did your poker success factor into getting your new job (ie would they still have hired you had they not known you were very good at poker)? Was it more of a "who you know" type situation? Anything to do with 2+2? Can you share the name of the company?

2. How many non-family-member females have you seriously said "I love you" to? Has it ever been a lie?

3. If you could take a drug that would make you bisexual, either temporarily or permanently, would you take it? Assume that taking it would mean a decent probability of man-on-man sex occurring.

What odds would be fair if Spam challenges you to HU4ROLLZZ?
07-14-2011 , 03:50 AM
asked this a while ago in regs thread and didnt get an answer:

game theory wise when you have a bluff catcher do all bluff catchers have equal value? what i mean is if you are facing a bet on the river and you call with a bluff catcher. should you be calling 100% of your bluff catchers? and if you are folding should you be folding 100% of your bluff catchers?

how do you define/measure intelligence?

a question about level up:

assume you're playing hu sng from december 2010, started with 5s, now with a 59% of winrate @ 20s reg speed . You have very few time for playing poker (fulltime job, girlfriend, hobby, sport) and you can afford about 250 games/month (I have just 2k games lifetime). You're playing for fun and for (little) money too.

Would you still shot the 30s if you have the roll? with the intention of shotting the 50s?
07-14-2011 , 03:59 AM
You mention not being afraid to move up

I currently play the $15 ST's

How many buy ins would you recommend for the super turbos when moving up?

Do you think the " suggested" 100 BI's Is too many?

Many thanks Mers

Will there be another read-only opportunity for the fasttrack program? And what will people miss when they only purchase read only? I like reading endless posts of strategy, so I can read it over and over again to understand. So afaik it would be quite valuable?

Also what do you think of the current 2+2 husng section, I find it's overwelmed by a lot of non interesting hands/bad players, and I think that's the reason why not many of the good guys post strat anymore. I feel like it's all beind discussed.... and where are the days, there was atleast 1 or 2 $1000+ strat thread to read?

Did you mention Poker in your job interview? Or does your new company knows about you playing poker?

As mentioned previously in the thread, jokes aside, I'm straight. Thanks for the good wishes!

While I know enough to rattle off Leeds players and come up with a respectable number of clubs for "all time premier league sporcle", I really don't know enough to answer this question.

1. I would not have gotten the job if it weren't for poker, for sure. I would have had a much harder time getting the job if it weren't for a poker connection who vouched for me (for which I am very grateful), but I would have had a chance without that. I'm going to avoid talking about company/employment details just so I don't get into stuff they'd rather I not get into.

2. In a romantic context? Three. Once was when I was 14 and figured out later that what I was feeling wasn't really love, but I don't think I was actually consciously lying, just a standard dumb kid. The next two were definitely legit. I have like a half dozen female friends who I'm very free with the "I love you" but I don't think that's what you mean.

3. I like who I am/my identity, so no, I wouldn't artificially mess with it.

Good questions
