Pot bet on flop seems better, then jam turn. It sets up a better turn SPR - also I think most of his range that continues vs 2/3 pot will continue vs full pot. As played, I would bet 2/3 pot on turn and snap jam. Ofc you will be drawing dead sometimes, but there's a lot of hands you can get value from still too and you need protection.

It's definitely not "very bad". Think about decisions in terms of expected value. 1/3 pot and 2/3 pot can both be +EV bets here, while 2/3 pot (imo) is more +EV.
