PokerStars - 10/20 NL (3 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 28 BB
Hero (BB): 30 BB
BTN: 17 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A 3

fold, SB raises to 2 BB, Hero calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) A T T
SB bets 1 BB, Hero raises to 4 BB, SB calls 3 BB

Turn: (12 BB, 2 players) Q
SB checks, Hero bets 6.6 BB, SB calls 6.6 BB

River: (25.2 BB, 2 players) J
SB bets 12.6 BB,

I am mostly concerned about the flop and turn line ( i think that river is a fold)
what about a turn check?

I have no idea how preflop ranges look like but I think you shouldn't raise flop, just call

Don't you think the A needs protection against the gut shot and the flush draw?

Those hands are never folding to your raise, so you aren't getting protection against them by raising. You get value from those hands with a raise, but a raise also makes it v unlikely you get any additional chips from villain's bluffs. A raise puts you in some really tough spots vs a lot of hands that you are dominated by.

As played, I think the turn barrel is -EV.
