this was played yesterday, turbo speed. sorry cant upload with converter.

1st hand no read.
I flat pre K8o to minraise.
Flop comes J82 rainbow.
we both check.(pot is 80)

Turn comes 8 giving flush draw.
I donk with pot sized bet. he flats
(240)

River comes 9. Flush misses.
I pot again. he shoves over.

question is: can we ever fold?
how does this change if we hold 78?
note we are quite deep, I never fold this in HT unless solid reads on my opponent

effective stacks? you shouldn't be folding K8 on this river generally. His possible hands better than K8 is 99/straights or some slowplayed monsters on the flop but they are lots of worse 8.

Consider our line is pretty strong. We represent big, not sure how many villains will overjam bluff this river readless. His range seems very weighted towards value. The only value hands we beat seem lower 8x. On the other hand we loose against any boat, QT, A8. Any other thoughts? Not sure if I analyse this situation correctly.

I agree that his range weighted towards value. However, I would not put him on any boat except 99,maybe JJ since almost everyone just cbet when they hit 2p or set at first hand, so you have to judge his range between {99,QT,T7,mayybe A8} and {lower 8 and few bluffs}. I would fold 78 as played but K8 is just too strong to fold as default.
