strange strategy - 1$ huusit&go

villain is tigth , he folds/checkfolds tons of hand but when he does play a hand he is verya gressive.
In position he folds or raises 3BB pf , out of pasition he folds or reraises big (i min raise a ton so he gets to reraise)

Here is how he played this hand:

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 1.1 Tournament, 15/30 Blinds (2 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Hero (SB) (t1515)
BB (t1485)

Hero's M: 33.67

Preflop: Hero is SB with 10, 9
Hero bets t90, BB raises to t270, Hero calls t180

Flop: (t540) 4, A, 10 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets t1245 (All-In), BB calls t1215 (All-In)

Turn: (t2970) J (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: (t2970) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: t2970

Results:
Hero had 10, 9 (one pair, tens).
BB had Q, A (one pair, Aces).
Outcome: BB won t2970

I believe that playing big pots out of position is a bad ideea , yet this guy uses his premium hands to do so. He either cbets or slowplays oop after flop.

Is this strategy of reraising oop your premium hands efective , and how would u continue postflop ?

In the hand above I thougth he had pocket J or some other pocket pair. The guy had an A though. I wonder how would he played it if only small card arrived on flop , is his strategy +EV ?

wtf u doing?

The reason he folds a lot but plays aggressively when he plays is because he is only playing WHEN HE HAS IT!!!!

In this case i might even lean on folding preflop. Though this is almost always a flat for me. On the flop just check back given how strong his range is and take a free card.

QFT. Also, your shove on that flop is ---------EV. I see fish do that all the time w/trash. You never ever have an ace there with that bet. Think about how you would play that hand if you actually had an ace- you would bet out a normal amount trying to get a call from worse. If the guy is slow-playing his big hands when he hits, just check back that flop and try to improve your hand since he is giving you a free card.

Yes, esp when playing spazzy players who flat in position and then give money away post flop...

there's nothing strange about putting more money in the pot with a sick hand like ace queen

FYP. Yes. At the low stakes, the idea is to get a worse hand to call you. If you have JQ, KQ, AT, etc... you are probably calling his re-raise, and you are crushed. The question you should ask yourself is: When is it not a good strategy to get more chips in preflop with the best hand?

When you have a good hand, you put money in the pot. When you don't have a hand, you don't put money in the pot. How hard is that?

Re: strange strategy - 1$ huusit&go

poker.girl, for the last time, please reexamine your dogmatic fear of playing raised pots out of position

are AA/KK the only hands you'd raise or 3bet from the BB?

you're free to do that, but it's ridiculous and is stunting your progression like hell

playing a raised pot out of position is a relative disadvantage, not an unmitigated disaster, and is easily rendered harmless by having a strong enough range against villain's, better skills than villain, good reads on villain, or general experience being OOP

(here's an amazing fact: some massively winning players will occasionally 3bet bluff from the BB pf with like K4s against players who open a lot of BTNs and initially respect 3bets! this can work at all stakes against the right villain! also, some villains will call 3bets pretty wide, but fit-or-fold against the cbet that follows on the flop, so you can 'print money' against them for a while 3betting wider than KK+! amazing, I tell you!)

oh, and your play in this hand is awful from pf onward, but you don't want to talk about that

one question. will you ever get called by worse? no. therefore this is a bluff...not a particularly good one either.
