Hi all,

I am moving to Spin&Go and I was wondering about how to play Ax in the BTN with ~20bb. I found some charts in which it's say that you can open shove AKo-ATo but mr/fold A9o-. It seems a little bit weird to me because I would prefer open shove A9o as well as it is hard to play them postflop as deep.

What are your thoughts ?

Open pushing A9o is a small loser to a small winner, depends if the blinds are 10/20 or 15/30 and on your opponents' calling ranges.

However, you still need to beat the rake and frequently busting on a breakeven play won't help you much.

I dont think this is the case in the micros cuz population calling ranges are going to be ridic tight in those situations, obviously i wont be open shoving that many BBs against a fish or vs a reg cuz they calling ranges are going to be so much wider.
But personally at the micros i wouldnt be open shoving anything at 20bb+ even at 16bb-18bb+ cuz people are just so f***ng bad it will always be a lot more +EV to just play it postflop and exploit people post, assuming you have a solid postflop game.

Ok thank you guys. So you are saying that it's more EV+ to just open raise littles PPs such as 22-66 or little Ax with ~20bb ? I'm not sure about 22-66 because you will often need to GU postflop, even if you've got strong reads it will be difficult to play them, right ?

vs the population at the micros HELL YEAHˇ! I would just consider open shoving 22-55 and just play post 66+ at 16bb-18bb+ but def wont be open shoving anything at 20bb+ unless i have a read the guy is just a drooler preflop .
And regarding small Ax dont worry too much about getting restealed as people often dont resteal as often or as much as they should at the micros to make a r/f a "bad play", either way you´ll be folding your way preflop of a bad situation post.
