Hi Guys,

I am looking to find some good training videoe/coaches for spins.
I know Bighusla, Coffeeyay, PrimodialAA&simpledude16 made videos for spins/heads up, also found some videos just for heads up by zZzTILT/phl500,Coffeeyay,BernardC and loads of others.

If you've seen those videos, what's your opinion about them?
Did they help you in anyway? which of them you found more useful&hammers the HU game properly ?

Thanks

Malte's image is good, but his advice is poor.

Most material that ever was good is still pretty good or just as good.

Most material that is not good right now was never really good.

The reason being that most good material doesn't teach you to play a stagnant strategy, stagnant strategies help you in the short term but age very poorly as player tendencies change and video packs are just not setup very well to suggest stagnant strategies.

The best material teaches you to figure out what you're up against and how to adapt to it. The best strategy teaches you how to learn.

Mersenneary's ebook is a great example. The ROFL chapter he talks about how he made his ranges and tells you to make your own based on your own database. That is a timeless lesson that has helped many players improve their strategy. Players that just want a shortcut will use his ranges blindly, which wasn't ideal even several years ago, let alone today.

Expensive is relative to the stakes you play and your budget. If you're a micro player on a low budget, watch free videos and post in the forums. If you're not one of those, set a budget you feel comfortable spending, but at least as important is setting aside time to really watch and study the material.

As far as good packs, Lotte Lenya's newest pack is great efficient learning, covering preflop and flop HU situational play at stacks appropriate for hyper turbos and spins. It's not only new and high quality, but very affordable for almost all level players ($200).

Tiptons books and accompanying video packs and Coffeeyay's GTO pack are good choices as well.

Coffee's spins pack is much more focused on 3 handed play, and Pbogz HU pack is more aimed at low-lower mid stakes players. zzz's pack strength is in the fundamentals it teaches, the weakness is in some of the default strategy assumptions in the pack.

this is about videos, not ebooks or anything else.
videos are crap compared to other forms of learning.
there are so many videos out there because its like a symbiosis between regs past their peaks and fish who just do theory to calm their minds because deep down they are crushers.
with videos you just get into bed, watch 30 mins of dude doing some stuff that looks cool and think "yay, 30 minutes of theory!".
just effective for the "regs" that earn a lot of money by making ineffective videos.

People have different learning preferences, but many, many players learn much better from a video showing them how to use software, how to study and how to analyze ranges than a book or a forum post.

Thanks for the info ChicagoRY,I have more experience in live than online, but I also had ok winning years in medium stack 2012/13/14 and early 15 in MTT and SNG but haven't played much in late 15 and 16 and I believe game has been changed drastically.
I am trying to transmit from MTT to Spins but so far found it difficult to work by my own that's why I'm looking to find some videos to show me the ways to study/work on my game and interduce/teach me to use some softwares to also improve/study and find my leaks.
Let's say I'm not perfect with ranges in different situatin in 3H and also I beleive you need to use different/more stats in HU. I am looking to find some videoes to show me those and then I go to work by my own. is there anything like that out thre ?
If so,which one would you recommend ? TIA

you barely ever get high enough sample in spins hu to get a big enuf sample on spots that arent covered in basic huds, so no need in stats. plus the guys u will have huge samplesizes on are gonna be regs so u have to play close to gto anyways.

most of video on husng are outdated nowadays in terms that poker has evolved very much in our time. yet, those video are well constructed and will teach you how to think about HU games. so is very solid base and if you are novice is worth to watch them.

#ChicagoRy , what is missing now on market is very good series about database analyze and utilisations of software like Simple Postflop, PioSolver, GTORanger etc when fighting regs. At least, I do not remarked much materials on this subject.

You're absolutely right about sample size but still it doesn't hurt to have better made hud& try to analyse more, when from time to time you get enough sample on someone& on specific spot.
If you were me without connection to any HU or spins player, and not having enough sample, where would you start?TBH I don't want to play on stack I usually play(medium)as I believe I'm behind atm,but also don't want to waste time to collect hands on smaller stack before study enough.I want to study/start collecting hand on small stack and move asap to medium but I know it takes some time and loaaaaads of work but I'm fine to put the hard work if only be able to find the right way.

GTORB has their own series on their software, Coffee did his GTO series with that software too.

Lotte uses SPF in his latest series, and they also sell ranges and have tutorials.

I'm not as familiar with PioS, but I'd imagine they have plenty of tutorial videos for their software.

That said, I hear you, we'll work on getting more of this out there. It's just difficult to balance what solid regs or math oriented players want versus what everyone else wants.

We resist the "here's a range of hands to open with" because it's outdated in 6-12 months (even if the avg player wants this), but we also resist the "here's how to use advanced software, we'll overview it for the next 5 hours in this pack" because the avg player won't like that.

Maybe some more specialty packs.

If you're just getting into spins and wants some good fundamental HU content for an affordable price, I'd start with pbogz pack.

Lotte's is the newest and highest level HU pack, he explains stuff in an easy to understand way for all levels though, so if it's within budget it's not a bad choice at all.

I'd probably start with a HUD too. CoffeeHUD is the HUD to get for HU, there's a few HUDs we have for 3 handed, most choose the 2016 HUD or the CoffeeSpins HUD, depending on preferences.

Using CoffeeCalcs for HU situations and things like GTOrb/SPF/PioS for advanced calculations makes sense, but I'd really urge you to read Tipton's books and/or watch his videos prior to jumping into the advanced software, you want to make sure you understand how to get the most out of it and that the type of calculations they perform are for you at your current level.

My upcoming series of free vids on HUSNG.com "Hand of the Week" will often use GTO solutions (generated by PioSolver) Keep an eye out for it, first hand should get posted soon.

Coffee, you're also working on a paid HU videopack right? Any idea when it will be released?

I am. Progress has stalled a bit :/ not sure when out, hopefully Q1 2017 but I don't want to make any promises since I originally thought I'd have it done Xmas 2015.

Turns out making a vid-pack up to my own insanely high standards is really hard
