Are spin and goes still profitable? Are spin and goes still profitable?

Hi forum, I was a semi professional spin and go player for 2 years between 2015 and 2017, but had to stop once online poker got banned in Australia. I have now moved abroad and can play on pokerstars again. Just wondering what bas changed in the spin and go landscape and is it still a viable option to grind out a living playing $60+ spins?

Cheers for any replies

Theres basically no rakeback and the games have gotten alot tougher. Its not easy to beat 60$ spins at all.

There's cash, heads-up SNG, 6-max hypers, MTTs....

Who on his right mind would want to play that lottery crap?

I wouldn't characterize Spin'n'gos as a lottery crap, but If someone is willing to play them proffesionaly he must prepare himself for some huge variance swings!
For me,personally other games suit me better, ones that don't involve this amount of variance, like HUSNG's.
But not everything is right for everyone I guess.

Yeah I was starting to make that assumption just from the small sample size o have played since returning. Seems that fish have a lot of options now, with 6+ poker, sng max, guess spins just don't appeal to the fish anymore, also seeing that a lot of spin stables have dissapeared that where prevalent a few years ago, also indicates the decline of these games.

Probably the fish either eventually hit a huge multiplier, got their cash and never played again or never got any hard multiplier and felt "scammed" by the site

I see a decline too. Games were running 10x times as high constantly 1.5 years ago and could get 5 tables almost any time of the day.
Now the 10th of the stake I see regulars everywhere.

The Half of the stakes I played I cant get running action on 6 tables other than weekends, and while I played most of my games vs 2 fish, now Im happy I sit with a fish and a weakish reg. ROI is like half it was used to be.

Having said that I'm still very profitable because Im smart with bonuses.

Wouldn't this same exact mindset apply to MTTs as well then?

Maybe, but I think it's a bit different from their perspective. After all, in an MTT they can see the prize structure and know how much rake they are paying exactly. They know that if they win the tourney they will get their money. I've seen a few fish frustrated about how they got ten x2 in a row, leading them to think it's "rigged"

No, they can see in real time the MTT updating who's winning, watch tables, see giraffes, and know tons of pros beat MTTs.

Even I as someone who has grinded 15s to 60s with CEV high 40/low 50 consistent over large-ish samples sometimes suspect these things are rigged bot havens. At least on ignition.

Can't imagine how the fish feel.

I think we shouldn't underestimate the fact that every time a rec plays an MTT, there is someone who gets a big prize. You can see it with your own eyes in the tourney standings. However, what happens in most spin&goes is that two pepole get nothing and the other guy only doubles up
