So if they are such weak players, maybe its better to play post-flop against them with a strong hand like 77? You will also improve your game by playing hands post flop and in time not feel so uncomfortable in these spots.
Wow dude spot on ur right about my post-flop play i need to improve it ,i usually try to play my best and when i shove is still a flip but some players at the stakes i play are so bad and i tend to lose money on the turn or river because they never give up,i shove more 22-66 and i play more post-flop higher poket pairs, right now i need to improve my mental game (cuz im on a stupid downswing).Ty for taking ur time

Hey all. I play HU hypers occasionally on my main site but looking to maybe give PS a go. I played a fair amount of games last night at the $7 hypers. Played a lot against one guy and then after that I kept getting rematch declined with lots of players.

I don't have any software atm. No HUD. No sharkystrator. Prob going to get a HUD soon. Do I need sharkystrator too, or any other software?

When do the divisions start, is it 30's or 15s? Does the 7s have one?

Welcome! There's a separate beginners' thread for HUSnGs that isn't pinned for some reason. Strictly speaking, this one is for variable prize pool SnGs only.

Sharky is so dirt cheap that I see no reason not to get it for anyone who's going to play HU 7s (maybe for those at 3.50s even).

Regarding the divisions:

As you can see, there's none at 15s yet, though there's an inside joke that someone can make it at 7s soon.

Okay guys, what would be the best strategy when villain seems to play limp or shove from the button when the game is heads up?

If the stacks ain't that shallow yet, is it okay to simply let him see the flop or is it better to get really aggressive no matter which cards Im holding?

This depends on how wide villain range is, but in general the more someone is limping the worse it becomes to iso shove as a bluff (because they;ll have more traps like big PP, Ax etc) which can dominate you. You should be isoing nai a lot for value, KTo, QTo, JTo, K9s etc. you can go even wider if they aren't limp/shoving. In general most people who limp close to 100% will limp/call a lot so you don't want to be bluffing that much.

If villain is limping 100% of their range from the sb this is good for you. You get to choose how much money goes in post flop with all your hands. Villain is losing out by not inflating the pot with their strong value.

Don't think a 100% limp-or-shove strategy is bad at certain stack depths.

At sub 12BB's vs another reg I don't generally minraise much, and certainly under 10BB's I wouldn't minraise at all.

Even at higher stack depths providing a limp-or-shove villain is prepared to limp/shove a lot (which is awful for Hero when he isos something like K9s) I'm not convinced it's absolutely terrible. I know it's a different position, but quite a few high stakes regs had (maybe still do?) a 100% limp strategy in the SB when still 3way against the BB.

At low stakes learning shoulld be your main priority. Don't play more than 2 tables and move up when you're either crushing or confident and easy to learn. A decent rule of thumb is 55cEV/game but variance is high in small samples, even 1k games doesn't give you an accurate idea of your winrate.

There shouldn't be a massive skill difference between $3 and $7 spins so it all depends on your confidence and BR. I'd recommend no less than 200BI for 15s though.

Ah, okay. Thanks forn the reply guys!

So, if I'm only raising with my stronger holdings... does that affects the percentage of flops I should be cbetting on or is it still optimal play to be cbetting most of the time?

What about when I'm holding weaker hands and I'm not raising to his limping? In those situations am I only hoping to catch something to show any aggression?

Hi all,

I've just started playing spins. I have played hu hypers to the $30s but wanted to try something new. I'm really struggling with variance at the moment. Looking at my results (lol sample size I know) I don't understand how I can tell I am running. From my results I am doing badly but from my graph I am under ev. How do you interpret the following?

Also, what software do you suggest to get for someone looking to grind spin and go's?

What's the general cev breakdown for the top regs @ HU & 3-handed?

That is, at the highest buyins for the group pulling @45+ cev over a large sample, how does that breakdown?

If you go down a tier to regs winning in $60+ at say 35-40 cev/game, what does the breakdown now look like?

<<<obviously doesn't have spinlyzer or other data access.

*I assume the numbers may have changed a bit post-SpinWiz

Hi! Your ITM Percentage and Chips per Tournament Percentage should be more relevant for a first assesment.

I didn't notice this thread first before i posted in the spin and go thread in this forum.

Hey all question about these spin and goes on stars. I played these recently.

1. Whats a good roi for 7s, 15s, 30s, 60s and 100s?

2. How many tables do most of you play at once? I do 3 and find that a pretty good spot. I tried more than that a while back and it was way too hard to play.

3. Is there a way to know how many big jackpots has been hit recently? I checked stars and it shows the probability of what the prize pool will be such as 2x, 3x, multiplier etc. Thus if someone hits the big jackpot for a certain level, is it possible for the next one to hit soon? Because if its 1 in 100 million and one hits, then there won't be a point of playing. I assume stars doesn't reset anything with these right? Is there a way to find out how many top prize spin and go for each buyin level has been hit for the year?

4. Whats a good volume per day playing these? How much are you getting per day for those who play these full time?

5. Someone mentioned to not play any of these under $30 due to rake. Is there any good reason for this? Obviously lower the stakes, the easier the competition. But at what level do you see a huge change in skill gap? I assume 15s or 30s?

6. Is there a way to find out the top winners at this format with sharkscope? Because if so, wouldn't there be a few huge winners due to hitting the big jackpot for each level? Thus even the jackpot for $1 is pretty huge at $10000. And of course $3 its $30000 and $7 is $70000? I check sharkscope top winners on stars and i dont see any huge amounts which means sharkscope doesn't record jackpot sngs? Thus with other formats, u can see how much the tops regs are making. But for jackpots, it doesn't at all.

Cheers.

Quick rake question. I have been playing the 10 spin n gos on ACR the past couple of days. When I register exactly 10 is deducted from my account. When I win the prize pool stated is added to my account (20, 40, etc.). I must be missing something but I'm not seeing the rake deducted anywhere. Is the rake built in to less frequency of higher multipliers or something?

ya, the frequency of the multipliers are set up so that the average prizepool is # of players * (10$ - rake) (I wrote it this way bc I don't know how many players are in each game on that site, or what the rake is).

Yes, they split 80/10/10 for all prize pools €1000 and higher.

I might be wrong, but I feel that was the amount I was putting when playing 3 tables.

I'm just starting to get into spins, have been playing for a couple of weeks and am winning at a decent rate in terms of Chip EV (50+). Not a massively experienced poker player, I've only been playing for about 6 months, but have played a lot in that time (mostly MTT's, some cash, about 500 spins so far). The only short-handed/HU experience I have is from playing these spins.

I'm looking at getting some spin and go coaching material, and I was wondering what people would recommend. I was looking at the Coffeeyay Beating Spin & Go's video pack, but was wondering if that is still up to date, and worth it for someone playing $3 spins looking to build a bankroll and move up, or whether there would be something else more relevant.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.
