lolz, plenty of people willing to tilt all in 25bb deep with 92o. 15's players are **** - and don't be discouraged by vip statuses, bc alot of the supernovas are **** too.

Looking forward to it

Unfortunately working full time has effected my ability to grind more than 1-2 hours a day. Will be going back to part time hours soon and can't wait

In one game I played today, I think it was the second hand, btn minned, both blinds called, the flop came something like AT2 double suited, the sb minned, the bb folded, the btn shoved 25bbs and the sb called J4o. Just to give you an idea...

I'm looking to get a video pack and can't decide between the pbogz video pack(http://www.husng.com/content/pbogz-h...rbo-video-pack) and the coffeeyay video pack (http://www.husng.com/content/coffeey...-go-video-pack).

does anyone have any experience with either of these and whether they are worth the money for someone who is trying to improve? These two are really the only ones in my budget right now.

I bought the pbogz video pack and really liked his teaching style. The approach is general and is more about getting you to think about the game rather than memorising ranges etc. I was playing pretty aggro before his pack, opening 80-90% and blasting almost every flop....The main thing I learned was its okay to check back once and a while. I'd recommend it and for $100 it's a solid investment.

I have no experience with any of coffees packs but I plan on getting the math pack as that is one area pbogz didn't really offer too much. I still struggle with when to call high 3b % villains etc. I need to study the math side.

As for spins I moved up to the 15s over the weekend. Games are a bit tougher as they are more regs who are less fit or fold so more post flop play then the 7s but I don't think the skill jump is that much. I have only played 200 and have a chipev of 70 but it's a tiny sample. The plan for the month is to keep grinding the 15s and hope we can withstand the variance

Good luck all

I'm not in the SM

And sorry for posting in the wrong thread, just it popped up at the top of my subscription list and I thought it was the main spin thread. But $5 is beginners' realm so meh.

I hoped the $5 spin satellites would be in the lobby more or less permanently (I actually prefer non-anniversary SMs) but Amaya is gonna be Amaya

I mean, back in 2015, Goldstar satellites to the quarterly freeroll used to start after (or at the same time as, idr) as the target freeroll, so the tickets won there would have to wait for 3 months to be used. But here, there's no chance given to qualify for next week's SM (the jackpot way) after the current one has filled up.

Brand new to spins (And hypers, for what it's worth). I was hoping to find a nice FAQ here in this beginner's thread but no dice, so here goes with some really simple questions.

Just how beatable are these things? I'm on the brand new Pokerstars NJ, so I'm expecting play to be quite soft. However, I will probably be part of the softness of the games, since I'm so new to the format. 7% rake at all limits, is this rake only going to be beatable by the very best, or will a smaller edge do better than breakeven?

These things seem to have variance piled on top of variance piled on top of variance. When do sample sizes really start to become representative? What kind of downswings are totally common? I really want to bang out 1000 of the $10s and see what my graph looks like, but before forking over $700 in rake and spending a lot of hours at it, I want to have an idea of what is possible. How good of a sample size is 1000 Spins anyway? It seems like that might actually be a painfully small sample.

It depends who you classify as the best. Some people have almost 10% ROI at 15s on PS.com with 5% rake, meaning 8% with 7% rake assuming quality of players is the same. Plenty of people will be able to beat 10s for a really good ROI especially while everyone is new to the format.

1000 Spins isn't really a sample. It can help you determine if you're a winning player or not but it's unreliable even for that. 3k games starts to give you an idea of your winrate plus or minus 10-20 chips/game. 100 BI downswings are common over 1k games even for solid winners. If you're totally crushing (7%+ ROI) they're much less likely.

Good luck!

HUSNG.COM would be a good place to start.

I have been looking at materia lbased on Pokerstar's Spins, but I am actually playing twisters on ipoker. I am wondering about adjustments, in particular for the endgame.

Once we get heads up at say 8-12 BB many players would not be playing push fold in Spins. Should we be doing so in Twisters due to the antes, or is that an invalid adjustment?

HU with antes is similar to HU without antes with the same starting pot size (e.g. 30/60 + antes 5 <=> 33/67), especially in the push/fold phase; the antes are conducive to wider button limping and minraising, though.

Ok, so perhaps it would be better to have Harrington's M on the HUD in place of BBs and then play an M of 8 in the same way as a Spin player would play with 8 BB?

Yes, and this stat exists in HM2 under the name 'Tourney Adjusted BB', not 'M'. The stat is also available at the PT4 warehouse. (The M number is always 1.5 times smaller than the stack size in (adjusted) bb, you can use it instead if you're comfortable with it.)

Note that it's based on the blind and ante sizes of the previous hand (tracking software can't read the data of the current hand and there's no analogue of StarsHelper for iPoker that I'd know of), so it's not always reliable and it's better to adjust the stack size in your mind, knowing beforehand what non-ante levels are equivalent to iPoker's ante levels.

does anyone have a link to a post about the "hidden rake" of this format?

saw this before where a guy calculated everything & put those in a spreadsheet.
what roi you lose every game
if you never play the top prizepool & you dont win the 2nd & 3rth prize multipliers.

I've played 250 $100 buckers and i was wondering how I would calculate hourly based on these results? What are the top regs win %?

Please show us a graph with 'Winnings In: Chips' and 'Show All-In Equity' ticked in PT4's left panel, exclude ROI, ITM and buy-ins won (they distort the vertical scale). 'Net Adjusted' winnings and even the ITM are too imprecise for spins.

Heres graph in 'Winnings In: Chips'

Great! As your total Net Expected Chips Won stat is ~13300 (looking at the intersection of the graph with the vertical axis) in 296 tourneys, you've won ~45 expected chips per tourney (in short, chip EV = 45), which is a great result for 100s (yielding ~5% expected longterm ROI incl. Supernova rakeback*, or $5 per tourney).

* This can be verified using the chip EV tool of SwongSim.

The sample of 296 tournaments is small and you need to play thousand or so tourneys to get a better idea of your ROI, but at least I'm sure that you have a positive post-rakeback ROI anyway (especially because you do have a solid HUNL background) and so playing those extra games won't hurt you.

Hey guys, just recently started to learn and grind Spin and Go's. My poker knowledge is often here and there, with gaps in places but usually enough to beat a lot of low stakes games. Anyway my question is can someone explain what exactly cEV is with a example as I understand they are a accurate measure of one's ability in Spins. Much thanks
