SNG HT range vs MR SNG HT range vs MR

Hi guys.

I began working on HuSNG HT in micro stakes.

I read the mers ebook and it's said somewhere (chapter 13) that against a fish who MR 70% and call a 3bet shove with {A5o+,A3s+,KTo+,QJs,K9s+,anyPPs} you can defend a lot especially by 3bet shoving a lot.

My question is : whit which hands do you prefer 3bet shoving light rather than call a MR preflop? I am pretty sure that I do not want to call whith hands like J3s, T3s, 63s etc. But what about hands like 95s, T6o etc ? I think you need some experience and logic to know what to do with these hands, and I don't have this experience.

To help, in this chapter, there is a matrix in which the autor put the EV of 3bet shoving hands against this opponents so for example you don't want to 3bet shove 72s because the EV of this hand is something about -1bb so equal to fold.

Here is the range I made but as you can see I am pretty lost about what to do with borderline hands... And I guess of course that your strategy depends on how v is playing postflop, etc...
What are your thoughts ?

First thing make sure you 3bet jam all Ax, you can add some suited connectors like 65s, 78s, 86s etc. idk about ev here, but if its good, next hands Id add would be low-mid offsuit Kxo, like K2o-K6o, you can throw in some other random hands but thats it, your 3bet will be around 30%, you dont want to go much higher.
Also you should defend bit more, like all Kx, J6o, T6o, 65o, you can call more than that but idk maybe it will cause more harm than good for beginner.
Also if you are playing someone who minraise a lot but calls tight range, making 3betting atc +ev than just go with hands you cant flat, like T4o, 94o, 73o complete trash which flatting is -ev but 3bet jam +ev. But still keep your 3bet around 30-35%, you dont want villain to adjust, like if you 3bet 50% even fish will feel you are overdoing it and will slow down.
And get rid of 3bet nai/call range, you dont need it, those hands plays well when you flat and keeps your 3bet % lower, ofc still 3bet all big pocket pairs.

Thank you for your reply

About 3bet jamming all Ax, is it not a problem because in our calling range we will not have Ax ?
And I totally agree with you about keeping 3bet %age about 30%, good advice
And when you say still 3bet all big pp, are you talking about AA or TT ? because if you 3bet jam AA I am not sure that it's the best line with this hand.
The idea behind 3betting non ai this range is because v is gonna call a lot because he is fish so we can keep almost all his entire range by 3betting 2bb to 5bb don't you think ?

No its not a problem you wont have Ax in your flat range.
By 3bet all big pp I mean AA-TT/99 and 3bet them nai, dont jam.
What do you mean you can keep almost his entire range? by flatting you keep 100% of his range and avoid getting 4bet jammed with something like A6 when you 3bet nai hand like KJo

Yes you are right. But I think that most of opponent would open shove Ax 20bb, and could 4bet ai with some other hands like Kxs, maybe Qx, am i wrong ?

I have no idea about population tendencies at micros, but if this is true than I guess its alright. Look at it this way - flatting and playing postflop those hands will never be bad, while 3betting nai can be worse vs many people.

normally we do not 3b nonAI our brodways as we want:
* protect our flatting range (vs fish it doesn't matter)
* keep villain weak range and play vs it (matter a lot vs fish)

however if villain is fishy and:
* is not aggressive post flop (low CB, fold vs probe etc)
* but love to call small 3B nai with any two pre
* and do not 4b jam often (which often case)

than 3B nai with top range is ok, as it should show better ev
