Id rather check turn and bet river tbh, seems like you have a greater chance of getting value from his 5x.7x hands that way

not really because 5x/7x type hands still chance to improve on the turn so can call a bet

I said you have a greater chance of being called on the river than on the turn, which is not what you seemed to have implied I said ( I cant really figure out what you are saying btw; that someone with 5 outs will usually call a large turn bet?) If we bet and are called on turn I think we have to c/f river. But if we check turn I feel like we have a far higher chance of getting called on river by lesser hands.

checking is also good for potcontrol imo. Lets say he calls our turn bet, then what?

BTN/SB: t1455 48.50 BBs
Hero (BB): t1545 51.50 BBs

Pre Flop: (t45) Hero is BB with 8 8
BTN/SB calls t15, Hero raises to t100, BTN/SB calls t70

Flop: (t200) 7 A 5 (2 players)
Hero bets t120, BTN/SB calls t120

Turn: (t440) K (2 players)
Hero bets t270, BTN/SB CALLS

Pot size is 1080, and we have 1005 left or so.

what river card do you really want?

or we can check, and if villian checks, pot is 440, much easier to play OOP

Please let me know Hookie, or Spamz or someone if this is trash thinking. ( tbh, hookie opened my mind to getting value depending on the sts with his Newff leakfinder vid, and even though we are OOP, I think this is still a prime example of how/\.

still bet turn imo vs this opponent

I don't think we can get 2 more streets of value after getting called on the flop, but certainly we can get 1 vs this opponent. Also, this opponent really doesn't bluff much so if he bets we are behind most likely. So do we want to bet the turn or the river? On the turn there are only 2 overs to our opponent's possible pair of 7's or 5's or gutter whatever and our opponent has a chance to improve to beat us. On the river there will likely be another overcard and he will now not have another card to try to draw out on us. I think the turn is the better spot to bet to get that value and then check the river. Fish like to call to catch 2 pair

Great thread OP. Don't really like the few bit negative comments on this HH and the OP.

Afterall the OP seems to be able to respond appropiately to advices from other members, he's not like the ignorant and stubborn type of guy.Someone if I remember correctly said that this HH could even hurt the hero's game.

Well , maybe there are some flaws in it, like the AK hand all-in. But it's not like everyone who reads this takes it without even wondering why. I think that with the help of some good players (as it did happen) the HH posted by OP was even on the same rank as a ''bulletproof'' HH. And some hands like the AK hand will remain maybe much more into the medium-weaker players' minds than maybe if the OP commented something like ''standard'' on that hand and there wasn't any comments about it. All I'm saying is that even if there are more or less serious mistakes in this HH the educational purpose of this thread and HH posted is still fulfilled.
