Even tho Chad is fairly straightforward to play against and is logical but not imaginative in his play, and can be a little bit douchy and a bit conceited on occasion, from now on, I'm never gonna mess with him, I'm gonna agree with w/e he says, I'm gonna be super nice to him, just grin and say 'you're the man' all the time, and even tho it doesn't help me at all, I might even buy the chad-pack just to appease him and make sure he doesn't beat me up when we meet irl. Hey Chad, no hard feelings? Let's be friends, I'll buy you one drink for free. Buddies?

Note to self: be nice to people by default. Then if u find out he's not a giant, then be as rude as you like. Okay, that's locked in to the memory banks.

Questions: those shorts you are wearing, are those pants for a regular-sized guy? Where do you shop for clothes, even the 'big and tall' stores are too small for u I think? Lastly, are you, um, proportional all over?

As for overprotection and nothing getting done, I'm not sure, it's still ongoing and judging by the actions of Brocky/tatum/whoever else he is, he's not exactly enjoying life, he's struggling to keep a bankroll and struggling to avoid degenning money every time he builds it up.

I didn't read closely, but I didn't notice any mention of bank debts until after the recent score (I could've just flat out missed it when reading the Goals and Challenges thread and this thread's history). If there's no mention of bank debts until after the recent score, I'd consider it very likely that the bank debts do not exist, at least not in a way that prevents Xereles from getting paid something now (again, if the bank debts have been mentioned prior to the recent score, ignore this paragraph, it is invalid/meaningless).

I'd advise people to consider getting full names and addresses of people they stake or lend money to, get some sort of at least basic agreement and consider pursuing legal action in places like first world europe and north america when people run with your money. At least in the USA, there are relatively affordable avenues for small debt conflicts (small claims court). A few successful or hotly contested cases might have players in the community thinking twice about rolling respected heads up community members, though the more likely effective measure is for the backers to practice safer practice and do more verification and information checks on their horses.

I don't want to sound like I consider this no big deal, especially if the bank debt is new talk, but I'm not sure name calling or threatening will convince Brocky that taking shortcuts in life and in poker is not going to get him anywhere he apparently "needs to get to so badly if he's stealing people's money to do it." I mean, you want to be rich right? You have dreams of making it big? So that's why you need to rip people off and not pay them back while you build a roll? But don't you realize that those actions are shortcut actions that will almost certainly weaken you over time and basically all but ensure that you will never get to the place you want to be.

In short, if you want to strike it rich, go baller and all that stuff, paying back Xereles, while weakening your short term bankroll, actually improves the chances you make it "huge" long term. At least that's my view and I'd back it up with wagers if we were betting on your long term success (meaning I'd wager more that you'll make it if you pay Xereles back, less if you continue to play with your winnings and not pay him anything, even partial).

The 1k thing, while technically an appropriate thing to do (offer a settlement when you don't have the full money), is a bit out of place/out of touch/counterproductive in this spot, at least to me.

And also my views are probably somewhat hypocritical to our other recent roller (Dean/all or nothing), since I was so hard on Dean, but that was more of an emotional case for me and I had more personal contact with Dean, particularly over debts and paying people back and shortcuts, so it was more hard hitting and disappointing to me when Dean ran off with money yet again.
Just as a quick response here to this thing about the bank debts etc, his bank debts are real, i've seen them, and he is paying 2k of the debt to xereles from my money with a personal stake deal involved in order to repay the debt to me, and the other 2.5k (i think this amount is correct) is being paid from his own current BR. I'm sure the whole of 2p2 will respect the fact that the personal arrangements between myself and Tottenham is completely private and therefore considering the wrong that has been done to the community (i.e. xereles) is restored the thread, im assuming, will be allowed to die. If anyone is curious I have taken so long to respond because of university coursework and UKIPT Nottingham, and just thought this post would help clarify a few things.

@Adversity: people make mistakes. It takes guts and character to admit to it and resolve the mistake. So, I too think the forum should forgive Brocky for this, and more so, whether he cares about what we think or not, he has definitely found much respect for doing this, esp. given that he is in debt and is scrounging to pay this back. Good job, Brocky, that's character right there, will serve you well as you move through life, guaranteed.

Tbh I can't imagine much he could have done that wouldn't be somewhat justified from his position. I can't say telling the guy to f*** himself is "classy", but it's definitely very justifiable and I don't think anyone can blame him for that.

As for Tottenham, he definitely deserves some credit for paying the money back, I'm pretty sure a lot of people (myself included) weren't expecting it given how things were developing here. That said I see absolutely no reason to burn this thread like it never happened, people shouldn't simply forget his actions (including the part where he paid it back even though apparently struggling with other debts)

I'm not the one asking for people to forget my actions, but i'll always maintain that the money was getting paid to Xereles, we just had a difference on opinions in terms of priority.

As for finding the other money, that's clearly been explained if you read up. Like Jay said, we don't wish to share the terms of our deal, but Xereles has been paid, which is what everyone wanted.

Btw, feel free to call me a scammer at the tables, I will happily run down the clock every decision and snap sit you whenever you opensit. Just ask Pavels.

Apart from that, the money has been paid back in full. I'm not bothered what your opinion is of me, but for me anyway, I consider this matter finished.

Obviously making a mistake then paying it back makes you a scammer. Can you imagine if someone actually stole money and disappeared? ****, they'd have to create a new word.

i mean whether you paid him back or not doesn't change the fact that you scammed him. you didn't follow the staking agreement made. It affects future situations for the community to know that.

Like props to paying him back, you def did the right thing, and regained a good amount of respect etc. doesn't change the fact that the mistake you made makes you a scammer.

And yeah if you had run it would have made you some disgusting slime-like scum that lives on the bottom of giant yak turds or something rather than scammer so could be worse imo.

But cheer up, best plan of action is to promise to do some coaching or something then let it all be forgotten with time. Then you'll only have to deal with being called a scammer once in a while rather than all the time
