What happened to the self imposed chat ban?

Did Stars reinstate it hoping he calmed down enough to sponsor him (speculation)?

Livb, I appreciate telling us your side of the story and I respect you for that. Now lets get past the drama for a little bit and get back to Q & A.

1) What did you do when your shot taking went bad? Jump down for a while, or keep at it?
2) Do you cash out on a regular basis for life expenses?
3) With the state of games today, especially with the UIEGA, how much tougher are the games today than when you started out?

1) If I took a shot and lost I would move back down. It would usually help motivate me to work harder at improving and I would put a ton of volume in.

2) I would cash out but I would try to keep cashing out at a minimum. My main focus was on moving up in stakes.

3) Its hard to quantify the difference in toughness of the games now compared with 1-2 years ago but they are clearly tougher. I also think, however that I have improved immensely in the last couple of years so I don't think my edge has decreased that much. This is a little obvious but still worth mentioning - HU also creates certain unique dynamics that are much tougher to teach and therefore edges in HU will be much tougher to eradicate than say 9 man sngs.

Hey liv, nice for you to open this thread again..and congrats on the MTT score!

I played you for the first time today when i tilt sat you for 6 games!

A couple of questions...

1, Do you intend on playing a lot more MTTs in the future?

2, Have you had any interest from sites looking to sponsor you?

Hey bud, I thought I recognized your name from talking to Brian, but I wasn't sure. If you started to play really badly, I would've quit u fwiw.

1, I will probably play a few more live tournaments but I won't go crazy travelling the circuit. I have an ton of room to improve in live tournaments and winning one tournament doesn't give me the illusion that I'm all of a sudden an elite player. I'll look at the schedule and decide which cities my fiance and I want to visit and which tournaments look worth playing.

2, I'm really only interesting in being sponsored by FTP or Stars since that is where most of the high stakes HU SNG action is and I'm trying to up my profile a little bit to spark some interest but ultimately I think I'll have to make another TV table to get a real shot.

A: WHen it comes to amateurs, their tendency to think I'm bluffing. When it comes to pros, its a little less universal and more specific, but trying to be a little more creative then they think I am capable of.

Da_pro is obviously a sick tournament player. In terms of HU SNGs, I think he is probably around breakeven though I can't see his stats. If he game selected more, he could probably be a marginal winner. I think he is solid and thoughtful but definetly exploitable in certain ways.

Recommended volume at each limit or just move up when you have the BR?

Rather weird question, but was that guy you played heads up at the WPT event you won as much of a douchebag as I imagined him to be? I was following along on WPT.com and with each update on how he was acting I wanted to punch him in the face more and more.

Grats on the score, though

1. I find it helpful to watch players I respect play. I also experiement a lot with different types of strategies....changing ranges up in different types of spots vs different types of opponents. I find that having experience playing various strategies makes it easier to adjust to styles faster and more efficiently.

2. Not trying to sound arrogant, but the answer to this question is actually no. I have never played anyone over a long period of time that I didn't think I could exploit.

3. Tilt is a fickle and unpredictable bitch. She comes in from different angles at times I don't even expect. Understanding her twisted methodology has proven elusive and in some instances even counter-productive. She is tamer than she once was but my main focus is keeping her in a cage.....

4. I think my results would be worse if I multitabled. I would enjoy poker less, tilt more, and learn less/adjust worse.

5. Boobs.

I don't think moving up should be based soley on BR considerations. I think players should have confidence that they can be more profitable at higher stakes than at their current stakes to move up. (this obviously doesn't apply to shot taking). That confidence can come from a myriad of factors that include game selecting and knowing there are enough fish to beat or thinking that some higher stakes regs are beatable etc.

thanks for continuing this thread

ima bump doug's question since i thought it was a good one. also, in addition to constructing your 3x 3betting and shove 3betting ranges at these stacks, what's up with the ~2.3x 3betting range?

To be honest, I didn't mind him as much as I think many other players would have. I was very focused and trying to use his behavior to my advantage. I think his antics will combine with some other factors to hopefully make the show one of the more entertaining WPTs. Personally I think that he was acting that way to deflect the pressure he was feeling and I also think his friends did him a real disservice by egging him on with both their comments and the alcohol.

He is also not a pro so undoubtedly had a different persepctive than I did or than many others would who understand how fortunate you have to be just to be there. Having said all of that, he was a little obnoxious and its considerably easier for me to be gracious given that I came back from a 20-1 deficit and won....

Thanks for getting this back on track.

1) do you find yourself acceleratingyour thought process while tilting? or are you still able to think at a more rational rate?

2) in referance to your response

can you elaborate a little more? what do you mean by seperating playing higher/shot taking?

thanks again and nice comeback

hello liv im bullettooth666 on ft. as u know weve played a decent bit in the last couple of weeks. before i ask anything i want to first say that u are by far the toughest person ive played and a real challenge to play. Some questions then

1 How do you view me as a player (i understand that u probably dont want to say much specific)?

2 How do you motivate yourself to grind so much and do you have trouble staying interested in improving, playing your A game?

3 How do you envisage the future for highstakes HUSNSGs. Kind of linking to this, do you feel it is important to learn other games for someone like me who would ideally like to play poker professionally for at least 2 more years.

4 Whats your favourite book/author/band?

5 Will you ever stop sitting me?

livb, thanks for the thread, much appreciated. People can find fault with anyone, but it is clear to say that you are a very skilled hu player whom we can all certainly gain valuable knowledge from.

1. What stake/level did you struggle the most with (if any/ever)? How did you combat this struggle and move up and get past it?

2. Was there ever a time where you thought you wouldn't make it (confidence just shattered)? And how did you get yourself back on track? Specific stories/instances might be useful. Again, thanks for the thread.

also can you remember playing a player called var1ance on ft in the 550s just wondering what you think of him as hes a friend and any tips to beat him would be good
