PokerStars - $6.71+$0.29|10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Should I be checking back here? What if I have no club? Also what do I do here with 44 - 77 with no club and what if they have 1 club?

BB: 79 BB (VPIP: 67.19, PFR: 60.94, 3Bet Preflop: 33.33, Hands: 76)
Hero (SB): 71 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has T T

Hero raises to 2 BB, BB calls 1 BB

Flop: (4 BB, 2 players) 8 K 3
BB checks, Hero bets 2 BB, fold

Hero wins 4 BB

Checking back is horrible because you're lossing a lot of value. Cbet 100%, not even close.

Is there any more specific reasoning behind either action?
Losing a lot of value from what hands exactly? Just curious about ranges here.

In general I've learned not to fear monotone flops heads up - most of the the time your opponent won't have it and if he doesn't and is oop he will be more scared of you than you are of him.

If that flop came out rainbow or two tone you would be cbetting for value so treat it the same unless given a reason to doubt.

You can get a street or two of value from other 1 club hands as well as paired 8s and 3s and of course lower pp. If villain is playing too tight and check-folding every time a flush draw hits then that's also easy for you to exploit as well.
