If he was intentionally posting bad advice to make beginners worse, that is a poor strategy as well since his reputation is bad to begin w/. I mean, most ppl will point out his strat sucks, so very unlikely to be effective. Not that it would be a good idea for a good player to intentionally post bad advice either, but a good player has a better chance of pulling it off.

The most reasonable explanation is Bunza improved. Also, some poker players are better in game than they are at explaining theory or discussing strategy. Bunza claims to be a genius, so it is likely his pattern recognition skills and his memory are better than most. It is not too difficult to figure out a +EV line when you know your opponent's hand range.

I'm sure Bunza will have some absurd explanation about how he is a very complicated man, and he only posted "creative" lines to better the strat discussion. There is no shame in admitting you were not so good at the beginning of your poker career, not many ppl are, and it doesn't make you any less of a genius. Mankind should be grateful that you gave up underwear modeling for an engineering career.

The time he started saying that was when RBJ was making fun of him and since he is stubborn and most likely wouldn't just admit, this seems to be the most likely scenario. If not that he is Phil Helmuth, everything fits so far.

I didn't expect such firestorm regarding my strat posts. I've started and stopped writing a reply to this many times b/c it's very hard to answer but I think I owe a response so here goes...

Okay, it's not one thing, it's many things. A LOT of you are spot-on (actually the hit rate is very high with your guesses). It's a combination...really goes to show the intellect of this forum, HU players are the cream of the crop in terms of intellect after all (I'm proud to say this!). Three things I will say: I am not Phil Hellmuth, I will try my best to give good strat or shut up in strat threads in 2012, and I am pretty sure no newbies are worse for wear as a result of what I've posted, and some have actually mentioned they benefited (so no damage done). I want to be the guy sitting behind the spotlight counting the bills while others can have their delusions and/or the spotlight. wanna play best of 201 hu STs like low buyin like $20 or 30 with nothing on the side? (on stars) Should be able to get that done in 2-3 hours 2 tabling - be good for vpps as well
