I started playing poker again (after having quit for about 3 years and I read that some people were interested in Spin and go stats from people that have a decent sample size. I have played a little less than 13k tourneys now. Started with 250 bucks, played a few 1 dollars, moved up to 3 dollars, ran like god and shipped the 3600x, now moved up to 7 dollars. EV ITM% for 3 dollars = 36,5 and 7 dollars= 35,7. I'm looking to improve this cause I'm definitely not playing optimal yet.

If anyone has ANY doubts about how ungrindable these games are please look at my graph! My expected ROI over a 4.5K game sample is 5.2% and I managed an actual ROI of -1.1%! I don't know the probability of this run but I can tell you that this game will tilt even the best grinders (I have a really good ROI in all forms of SNG/MTT). Variance and the lack of transparency on how the multipliers are distributed (I ran bad in every multiplier except for the 2x) make these games a nightmare to grind! Had to self ban myself for the rest of the month from Spins due to the tilting nature of variance! Anyone else experience a run like this? I saw a graph of another good reg run almost as bad over a similar sample but want to know if anyone else has graphs of large sample to share to show how variance is in this game? Also why is there no tracking available on sharkscope for this game?

You have a sample size of about 5K games. This is a way to small sample size for spin and go's. As a full time grinder it is easily possible to grind about 10k games a month. You should at least have 10 - 20k games before you start talking about variance. I think that the variance in these games is huge but definitely not unbeatable. I'll post another graph at the end of the month, I should have about 17k games.

Thread needs more people that binked the biggest multiplier, explaining about variance.

Grizz, you've only played like a month of volume though. I think everyone agrees that these are higher variance than say hyper turbo HUSNGs, but would you ever consider a 1 month bad run at any poker game to be evidence (even light evidence) that games are ungrindable?

Just reiterating his point that spin n gos are a bit of a mug's game and if you have skill, you can get rewarded in hypers - if you are good enough.

yeah, unless you can't afford playing 800 games per month against other regs that is requirement of volume for being in a division before starting to get some fish. Not everyone here plays as main income ….

For the $30s to the $100s divisions you just have to prove yourself by making a predetermined ev target over a predetermined number of games (check out their threads for more info). If you make the criteria, you make it in to the division and somebody gets kicked out. No mate's club anymore (and it's been like that since May - but there's a lot of misinformation out there and sometimes we haven't explained things as well as we should have).
