Congrats, hopefully you'll start coaching now (I mean, on how to do your best under such pressure as the additional $27K prize for the 1st.)

I hope you're all kidding about an EV theft, of course no one has power over the prize pool distribution. And actually a hit of the jackpot doesn't affect the chance of getting it tomorrow (or only slightly affects it in case prize pools are rolled out in fixed batches of 20K games each and the next batch starts only after the previous one is played out, like it happens on iPoker, by their own T&C admission; but at Stars, such a batch is played out in a matter of hours anyway).

Well, they're not close to turbos as to the amount of postflop play, but they surely have more of it than 6-max hypers and about as much as HU hypers (a bit more if the third player is out at blinds 10/20).

Yeah I actually think slower speed players will do better in spin&go's. I've gone heads up against some 6 max hyper players and honestly, they are WAYYYYYYY behind the curve. That being said, they're probabally playing 8+ tables so their volume might grind them some good rakeback+$

There's no way they can make money at all if they have grave HU leaks at all of their 8 tables. What they're doing is trying to lose as little as possible, which is still a better result than the unexpected loss from not becoming SNE.

However, I wonder why it was unexpected - iPoker brought the format to global attention back in January, and it was predictable that other rooms would try to mirror it (like Rush Poker a while ago) as it was a 'success' from day one. The question was only when it would happen, and Rational was even a bit late (imo) to roll it out in June at FTP and now at Stars.

Were people sure that Stars would never 'do it to them' because 'they were poker'? That was too optimistic.

The games are starting to reach a point where most of the players you're matched up with are regs from other games. You're going to have to better than them or else you will have a really low/non-existent winrate.

Players are underestimating how hard it is to switch from another format to 3 max. You can get a pretty huge EVROI from these games right now, and only half of that is from fish. The other half is from other "regs" who jump right in and load up 7 tables thinking that they're only going to come across fish.

Edit: Want to race blakkman? Who can get 10k EVBB first :P Great results tho, i'm assuming you play heaps of tables as well as winning.

Show us the chip EV graph, please, blakkman08. The bb graph isn't representative, as you might be winning chips at a higher bb/100 rate at low blinds and then maybe even bleeding them back a bit at high blinds.

And yeah, quit if you're crushing, the rest of the field will be so grateful.

Right, with only 0.4% EV ROI pre-RB, you've been in the top luckiest 20%.

Calculation:

500 chips = 0.96 BI (not 1 BI because rake is 4%).
30000 chips (net EV) = (30000/500)*0.96 BI = 60*0.96 BI = 57.6 BI.
57.6/1306=0.044=4.4%.
But we still need to subtract the 4% rake because, after investing 1 BI, we get back only 0.96 BI if we break even in terms of chips.
So we arrive at the 0.4% figure.
