They weren't solved fwiw. Even the HU portion of it wasn't solved until 2015/2016 unless you are talking about satelites where there no HU.

Spin and goes are not solved either lol, and it's an infinitely more complex game than open face chinese or something like limit holdem.

Maybe I wasn't sufficiently specific with my words, so here's a more limited claim: The SNGPT software was released in the mid 2000s, and it taught people how to play end-game STTs in an unexploitable fashion. The STT forum here on 2p2 used that program to build a pretty decent understanding of how to use Nash equillibirum strategies in short-handed, short-stacked games very quickly.

I guess that this might not be a "solved" game to the minds of others, but if there's a meaningful difference, it's beyond my limited nuance to tell much of a difference.


Even if what I write in this post in the two paragraphs above is wrong, and my example of STTs doesn't really relate in the eyes of some, here's my underlying point: Not offering Chinese Poker because you're scared of bots playing it perfectly doesn't make any sense to me. I say this as someone who formerly managed online poker bot detection teams, and as someone who has some credible understanding of the background business of running an online poker site.

There are many reasons for an existing online poker site to not offer Chinese poker, such as:
-cost of development being too high
-number of newly acquired players being too small
-any growth in play only cannibalises existing play

I am just saying that being afraid of bots is a ****ty reason to not offer Open Face Chinese Poker. If you've had an online poker site tell you that they don't offer Chinese Poker because of the hypothetical fear of bots, I would encourage you to challenge their claims, because this makes no sense to me.

Lots of decent free material e.g. on HUSNG.com ; YouTube ; Twitch. Would check out some free vids first to see what you can get from learning with vids and if it's worth a $ investment. Coaching for fixed $/h or for profit sharing is the alternative. That will be more expensive but also your most costy leaks can be found and fixed more efficiently than with stumbling across them in vids

Impossible to say what's your best bet, cause everyone learns somewhat differently and majority of studies will be self-study/hand-discussion with others anyway, which is more a matter of passion for the game, otherwise u either won't do it or be unhappy in the process.

I'm pissed off that partypoker spin and goes say blinds are 3 minutes but when they are playing is 2 minutes, is basically a form os bait and switch/a scam, but nobody seem to care, ive sent this complain to partypoker once per month, and they always respond "they are looking into it"
