Someone delete that post please, I'd like to change it to this:

Quote:
Also, what's with the way HUSNG players are treated differently from HU cash players? I mean, HUSNG players pay more rake, but we're only an after-thought. You came here to ask the cash guys what they wanted and had to be reminded that people play HUSNGs, too.

FTP also does nothing but bend over backwards for whining cash players: "boo hoo, we don't want king of the hill in the lobbies," says the people raking hardly anything, and FTP immediately caves:
"No, guys, we're not going to consider king of the hill. Don't worry, we love you even though you hardly generate any rake and you're the whiniest players we've ever had. Our stance on HU cash tables means we don't have the same lobby problems as other sites, like PokerStars. "

And then toward the HUSNG players:
"Yeah, you guys generate a crapload of rake. Deal with it. And super turbos? Hell yeah, super turbos!! Go play PokerStars if you don't like it. "

Lower rake...Their fn rake eats up like a third of my profit....And then you have to pay taxes.
Kudo´s for the structure though. Well thought out, slowly but steadily increasing the pace of a match feels good and natural.

I'd like FTP to give me MY RAKEBACK PERIOD after being a member for several years but signing up without it back in like 2004. You know what I mean?

does anyone else think putting an additional buyin level between 100 and 200 would be nice?

imo 100->200s a pretty big jump compared to those before and after it

I think that $220s to $550s was a big jump (2.5x instead of 2x) which made it a really difficult transition compared to other levels and warranted a change. $100s to $200s doesn't really stand out to me as an abnormally difficult transition. It would also probably prompt people wanting levels between $2/$5, $10/$20, $50/$100, $500/$1k, etc. The only reason that I really see this level being an exception is because super turbos are destroying so many of the fish at this range.

Why not just remove the $160 super turbos? Aren't those the biggest issue?

75 BBs is hardly deep. Isn't 100 BBs considered a normal medium stack by cash players, and 200 BBs deep?

I suspect there are a number of players who would switch from Stars turbos to FTP turbos if they started at 10/20.

Nah. There are so many places where you can find crappy "turbo" structures like Stars. FTP is great because the blinds go up so smoothly. Ruining that because some guy wants a slightly bigger on edge on the fishies is dumb when he can just sit reg speeds, imo.

I didn't suggest changing the structure to one that's less smooth, simply to start at 75 BBs deep so that there's some (semi-)medium stack play in the turbos.

FTP turbo structure is perfectly fine as is imo, it rewards making observations ASAP about your opponent early and playing good push/fold poker late.

not coincidently I feel those are two of my strengths at HUSNG but still

I disagree.

I'm gathering all of the feedback and putting together a proposal for some changes. This doesn't mean they'll actually happen any time soon (or even at all if the big bosses don't go for it), but it does mean I'm still following this thread closely and doing some internal analysis to help make the case.

Getting rid of the $160 superturbos isn't a bad first step if you want to be more cautious. That's really where getting action gets to be a problem because of it, and where it's most securely a -EV Roulette game that FTP is hosting regardless of strategy, and will make people think "no matter what I do on this site, it's impossible to win, the odds are rigged against me".

That's what i see as main problem with the superturbos. It's not that bad (and even a lot of decent) players might bust their roll at those, but the fact that they probably just feel so unlucky or "poker is rigged" that they also won't reload again afterwards. So even from FTPs perspective, they might earn a lot more rake in the short run, but loose a lot of players in the long run.
