Took 6 months or so off. mostly life related, but I'm back to the grind. jumped on some $6 hypers and man. it seems like I'm playing pretty well and just getting the bad side of variance. maybe not though, I haven't played a hyper in quite awhile, over 6 months since I was playing spins before I took a break. what do you guys think?

I notice right away that I'm floating flops and folding to too many turns right off the bat.

*side note* I did purchase the "hokie greg" video pack from HUsng. I haven't watched it in over a year, should probably get on that. also the games are mostly regs. when I say regs I mean players who play HU hypers on a regular basis. winners or losers I usually open sit or will play pretty much anyone. theres only 2 guys I stay away from mostly and theyre the top leaders for the the $6 on ACR. other than that, ill play anyone. is that bad? I mean should I be bumhunting? I feel like if I want to progress I need to play everyone ( including the 2 I avoid eventually) or is that flawed thinking?

Removed the graphs for you.

As far as your mindset, I think it's absolutely advantageous to basically play everyone while you're moving up in stakes, it should allow you to progress faster, so long as you can avoid getting too frustrated. You seem to have a good mindset though.

Hokie's pack will be most helpful for teaching you how to start at zero and then take new info into account to make assumptions. One of the toughest things for players is going from their readless strategy to changing that strategy once you see some evidence of what your opponent is doing. Adjusting is a continual process, especially early on in the game.

thanks, the graph was correct just the stats were wrong. I watched his postflop video earlier and I instantly knew what ive been doing wrong. not wrong, just not correct. if that makes sense? if 6 man hypers ran more I would play those exclusively tbh. Something about the HU hyper format is very intriguing and competitive to me.

the preflop video is really good, although I don't have a pop. tendency for my stake. I only have 250ish games I believe. I played 3 this morning against a player who was giving me trouble and won all 3. which is meaningless really but mentally it was a kick in the right direction. I one tabled and took some extensive notes. couple that with hokies postflop video and it was a more enjoyable experience. its amazing how 3 games can make such a difference. the goal now is to get my hand histories on separate databases. HM2 is so lame when it comes to exporting hands. after I get them separated ( HU and 6max) I'm going to attempt to make a "global alias" and really dig into his preflop video.

ps
if you have any tips or links to a way to separate hands in a database in HM2 I'm all ears!!
I have HU hypers and 6 max hypers that I would like to put into separate databases.

figured out the DB thing. just made a DB backup and created 2 new databases. import, purge the stakes you don't want and voila..

ive played about 40 games or so and LOL...downswings are real. I mean at first I thought it was my play, I mean I'm not perfect by no means but I do review all my HHs and plug into icmizer. I study quite a bit and it was very infuriating at first! just like wtf..really?? again! now its just borderline hilarious. I cant even get mad anymore, I mean ive played 269 games and 3,498 hands. that's 13ish hands per game average! now I understand why people don't like these games. the swings are really big, I sharkscoped some top regs at the higher levels and most have had a 50-100 BI downswing ATLEAST once. and they reset their stats for Jan 1st. but their volume is incredibly higher than mine. play 250 games in a day for one guy.

I did the global alias thing, and it said everything was good. I was like sweet! but in HM2 theres nothing in the list. ill have to try it again later.

heres my graph so far for $6
