We could do the random one pretty easily.. just list the entrants of the tourney in alphabetical order and then randomize the people entering in a list from random.org and then just go by snake 1234554321. Or the first person on the list gets every 5th person (by however many people are in the pool).

I'm down for a random and/or a draft. If everyone chooses random here that's fine with me, I'll be setting up a NCAA bracket pool (using Yahoo, ESPN, or something else) when March Madness rolls around and everyone can pick on that one obviously.

Meh, 64? I don't see us getting that many people. Plus it would be more fun to have more than one entrant. I'd like to see around 16 people or so.

^^ yeah true. I'm ok w/ any bi, but I doubt we will get more than 8 participants if the bi will be $500, so $250 or $100 would be the best option

yeah this, won't take long at all. And even if you can't be there by some stroke of misfortune, you could probably assign a proxy to make your picks for you (i.e. provide someone with a list of the participants ranked 1-64 and have that person just go down the list picking the highest available).

I expect about 3 snake drafts of 8 people and 2 random drafts of 8 or 16 people. Everybody chill out, this is the third year we have done this, and we have gotten exceedingly efficient at it.

OK, let's get the ball rolling on this. Let's start with 3 pools: A $1k random (8 max), a $250 draft (8 max), and a $100 random (16 max but will run with 8 if necessary). I'm sure we'll fill more pools than that, but let's start with those 3 and see where that gets us.

This is just a guess based on what I've read in the thread, not binding until escrowed. If you want in (or if I missed you), jump in! If you want out, jump out. We'll see where these lists go in the next day or two, and then start escrowing/randing/setting draft times.

Keep posting if you're interested in more/different pools, and we'll get sign-ups going for those too.

If it matters, I intend for historical payouts to continue, which are fairly flat - for the $250 pool, this is something like $50 for every player on your team made it to the Elite Eight or father, $100 for every final four or farther, $300 for making the finals, $600 extra for taking it down. So just picking the champion and nobody else gives you $1050 back. If groups want, they can decide to make it more winner-take-all, but all that needs to be decided before escrowing.
