looking for advice

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I started playing two months ago on party poker. Played cash games for a month and a half, not really my thing. 8 days ago I started playing husngs. Started from the 1$ buyin now Im at the 5 dollar buyin. My ROI over 950 sitngoes is 10 but I have run a little over equity. There are still alot of fish and the regs have obvious mistakes at this level but so do I. There are alot of spots preflop and postflop where I just dont know what the correct play is. Where and how can I study? What HUD stats should I display while playing? Anything I should know? Any advice is appreciated, thank you

There are no regs on $1 stake. Since there are no regs you don't need a HUD. HUD is useful when you have a sample over a villain. On these stakes it's all about logic. What would benefit you the most would be to get some coaching from a decent coach. By decent I don't mean a high stakes coach. In order to win your high school's tennis tournament you don't need coaching from Nadal. Your focus should not be on how to play X spot but what the thought process should be. A good coach could easily help you improve tons in a handful of sessions. Probably an experienced kids/teenager coach would benefit a high school tennis newbie improve more and faster up to a certain point than Nadal. It's the same with poker.

You might want to consider buying and using coffeehud -- there are a lot of numbers, but it's a powerful hud and shows all the info you'd ever need at hu once you learn to use it. Definitely worth the investment.

If you don't want to spend on a custom hud, I would just go look at coffeehud and build a hud that shows similar stats.

Re: looking for advice

Didnt know about this addon thanks for the info it seems great on another note how many husngs do you need to play to get a general idea of your winrate, how many husngs does the average pro play weekly and how many tables at a time on average?

Partypoker is the site with the most rakeback. The games there are really reg infested. I would look for another place.

While unfortunately it is somewhat accurate, this sort of advice is stupid and not the thing people are seeking on the forum. Honestly, this sort of pessimism is part of the reason that online poker is dying.

So you are saying people dont want to hear the truth and therefore I should lie to make them feel better? Also speaking out the truth is pessimistic now? Sorry for killing online poker by saying facts

Re: looking for advice

It is literally not the truth. Its way easier atleast for me and im certain for a bunch of other people to play poker rather then doing anything else for money. What you said applies for idiots so you should ask yourself why are you saying such things. Poker is definitely worth it if youve got the brains time and determination.

Thats your opinion. If you have the brain, time and determination as you have said, it might be more +ev to try something else. Especially if you havent even played alot of poker before. The poker economy is not getting any better.
But you can belive whatever you want Calling other people "idiots" does not make your poiints more valid tho.

Re: looking for advice

There are no other strategy games for money as far as I know, atleast there arent any where you can make nearly as much as in poker so thats why I decided to temporarily dedicate my life to it . I think you'll always be able to make decent money from poker, atleast live but probably online. Why are you even on a poker forum encouraging people to not play poker?
