If you haven't...DON'T! This film is without doubt the sickest film ever made and i'm not just saying that to hype it up. It is beyond evil and pure and utter disgusting. I almost puked at a scene. It's absurdly sick. I have no idea why this wasn't banned.

I know this will push people to watch it as people are curious but listen up, please think about it. If i could go back in time, i wouldn't watch it. It's horrific.

The only positives are that the acting is of a high standard IMO considering what is being filmed but that's about it.

+1 mirrion for new avatar lol. (i need one for myself)
I had never even heard about this film, but I'm definitely watching it now. No way it can be as bad as you say, but I obv have to see for myself now

Why don't you like it? Life is a high variance game and people are way too results-oriented in it. It's rly true, just don't expect too many people to agree with you and don't criticize anybody. Poker has changed the way I think about life but I mostly keep this to myself/rly smart ppl.

Ive generally found these things to be a huge positive irl although not without trade offs. Why do you say "blame variance"? The inability to control aspects of what is going on around you is an integral part of both poker and life and IMO a truly logical solution to simply accept and embrace that fact, with little reason to ever be in conflict with it.

A tendency to criticize I think shows a misunderstanding of what place logic has in life. Is being rational an end goal in and of itself? If you become the most logical person on earth is that success? I think very few people would state that as the metric with which they use to judge the value of how their life is proceeding. Simply stated logic is a tool to get some place else. When you criticize people do you ever think about what purpose verbalizing your critique actually serves? Have realized that often times people do not mean what they say?

And just remember even if you are hyper logical it does not protect you from solving the wrong problem, just like anybody else in this world.

Thanks for all the response. I've come such a long way in the last few months in understanding why things happen and how little control we have over life but i still feel naive as ****.

I think what annoys me is that is hasn't made me happier which is sort of irrelevent but than not really. It's stupid to asume that somthing will make you happier though. Does an african child playing marbles with stones feel less happy than an american teenager playing xbox360? and would the teenager feel the same amount of joy as the african kid if he played marbles with stones? and would the african kid really be happier if he was playing an xbox? and in 50 years time will our children's children look back and think 'how did they enjoy that game? it sucks' but will they enjoy their games more than we do?
again that's not even really relelvent just ignore that ^^

and yeah i understand that criticism is rarely going to help and is almost never the best way to get someone to see your side or why they're wrong etc i just get annoyed how naive some people can be and so often and not do anything to try and improve or realise what they're doing wrong and just voice there opinions constantly, not because it helps but just for the sake of doing it. than again if people only spoke when there was good reason to the world would be a quiet place. IDK im rambling nm

So lets take a common example, your girlfriend tells you about a problem at work and asks for your opinion about what to do. You outline two reasonable solutions. Girlfriend gets mad at you. You get mad at girlfriend for asking for you help when thats not she wanted. Who is really the irrational one? I say its you assuming this isnt your first rodeo.

Take your outlined situation for example, you are frustrated at people who talk about improving their lives but take no action. These are simple realities and yet you react to them by getting frustrated. In fact you want these people to make huge changes to their lives and communicate differently rather than utilizing the facts in front of you to come up with an optimized solution based around the things you cant change. Who is really the irrational one in this situation?

first example i would say both.
second example im not really sure where that came from, it's probably somthing i said but that was probably because of me rambling and not really describing my situation clearly.

I have found myself in that situation before though, and in hindsight it's always easy to say i was in the wrong. would i be able to recognise my irrationality in the present? i hope so but i doubt it =/

Read Sklansky's DUCY book.. I haven't read it, but saw some excerpts and it's basically a lot of these examples ^^

havnt read that one yet but i've read the two prequels, girl with the dragon tattoo, and girl who played with fire.

First was v.good imo, second was better though the ending miffed me abit. One thing for for sure is that i knew i wouldn't have enjoyed as much if i hadn't have read the first one before so i'd recommend reading them in order.

Havn't read that tho ^^ so may not apply as much.

meh stieg larsson is overrated imo. its amusing but a bit cheap and predictable.

Spoiler:
and whats up with this guy in the second one, who cant feel pain. he cant feel pain so a stungun doesnt affect him but a kick in the groin doesy yeah sure totally makes sence

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a must read, actually everything by hunter s. thompson is worth the read.
oh and in case you ever need a present for an artsy chick get her a copy of "the curse of lono" the hardcover version with awesome illustrations by ralph steadman

well since this is a pokerforum lets stay with the vegas theme. fools die by mario puzo

In Arizona! The National Championship is tomorrow. Oregon is in the natty. Still crazy to me. Gonna do a pretty small freeroll just for fun.

Quote this post and say the name of an Oregon Duck (Here's a page to help you out http://espn.go.com/college-football/...3/oregon-ducks). If that duck is the last Oregon player to score a touchdown in tomorrow's national championship game (passing TDs go to the receiver), AND the ducks win the game, you win x dollars, where x is the number of points the ducks score in the game.

So if you quote this post and say Jeff Maehl (who I am pansexual for), and Maehl hauls in the game winning score in overtime for the ducks to win 54-51, you win $54.

Contest open until halftime of the game. Limit one guess per person. If two people guess the same person, the money goes only to the first person who guesses him.

One final bonus: If the TD is a special teams or defensive touchdown, or a touchdown of 60+ yards, you win double the money. If nobody guesses the right person (or the ducks lose), oh well, no winner.

Lucid dream talk plz.

I read that looking at your hands would make you realize whether it was a dream or not and it has worked for a long time, but since I've done it so much, last night, I was convinced my hands where the way they were in real life and therefore it served to make me believe that the dream was even more real, feels like I wandered around for 2-3 hours, I think I also had a dream within a dream there. Any other small tricks?

It's really hard to differentiate dreams from reality. Sometimes I view myself in my dreams wearing clothes I do not own, yet when I wake up I'm sometimes hopelessly trying to find out where I put them

looking at a watch/clock , away than back again is a popular one, as is trying to breathe in through your mouth with your mouth closed but that sometimes doesn't work in dreams. the one from inception where you try and remember how you got wherever you are is meant to be a good one.

I also remember reading an article on a women who had 5/6 lucid dreams a night because she had a habit of constantly asking herself what she was just thinking.

just google reality checks
