We as poker players, are all degenerates. One way or another, it all comes out in the end. We are slightly better than sports bettors, but really, for the most part, are all sick in the head when it comes to money.

Why did you look for the IPs after such a long time? Thats seems strange.

And of course, if Kido wants to rectify this situation, he can always PM me.

A lot of circumstances seem to draw people into doing things they look back on and realize are unfair, silly and immature (like stealing people's hard earned money). It's always better to fix the situation rather than continue on having wronged somebody.

Kido: I know you've been emotional at times, but you're a good poker player and there seems to be no reason for you to do this. If times are tough fine, but it's no reason to take somebody's money. I thought better of you and hope you come to your senses and fix this situation.
what the ???
You read this 2 years ago and decided "nah im just gonna make a new account"

He (finally) applied for marketplace permission. An MP mod did the standard lookup and alerted us.

Now all we have to find out is who killed JFK and where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

I mean, our conversation literally was:

Me: "Hey did we ever figure out what happened to French_Kido?
thoac: "it was me
i was F_K
seriously
that was me"

And then a half hour of him providing explicit details so that I'd know it wasn't a joke. It's not exactly like he was trying really hard to hide and messed up.

Fair, but IP matches are far from 100% reliable. Otherwise this gimmick account is Mat Sklansky and 8 other posters colluding, etc.

yea... pretty shocking discovery... I really <3'd French Kido, he had just DAYS before turned down my $$$ for a stake before scamming JG...

"on this whole subject, it's really weird that he did a whole successful / great stake w/ Rypac before over 1200 games, he also approached me for a staking/coaching deal that was going to last 6 months and turned down my $$$ based on time-frame, not wanting to be locked in for so long, I think the most likely assumption (as he's always seemed like a legit / decent guy to me), is something came up in his life, he needed the $$$ and cashed it out and now isnt responding / etc. cause he doesn't know what to do. I've seen this situation alot of times (Hokie had a similar thing happen to him and is now finally starting to get paid back), and i'd like to hope he still has intentions to pay it back. It obv in no way clears his name or excuses his behavior, but I think this is a more likely scenario than "YAYAYA 1k, let's pwn JG and jet"

-Primo "

Wondering 2 things THOAC, why did you scam JG, and why didn't you take my $ and scam me then?

Crazy tho, I <3'd FK, then like a while longer FK(THOAC) hated me and I hated them :-p, and now I <3 THOAC again... crazy cycles of knwoing peope =/.

Whatever though, I know some other regs now who have scammed and come totally back in the past to be upstanding members of community now, I don't really judge THOAC any diff. than I did before given that he's been spotless on the new persona for year

Well except for the fact that he kinda scammed again by pretending being another person.

quick correction: The first decline of THOAC's marketplace request was apparently some time ago.

i particularly love this bit, I think only a moron would forgive you. You are significantly more pathetic than people like Sol or gary neville who didn't hide like pussies when they ****ed up bad and rebuilt their reps in the context of what they had done.

There's no "I was in a tight spot" excuse if you were giving out fake names from the start as far as staking goes.

Yep. Now he tries to make us out to be d!cks if we don't forgive him. THOAC is total class. I probably would throw a drink in his face if I met him irl before this, the guy is just such an @sshole.

I agree the Sol or Gary Neville route is much more honorable as well. THOAC definitely continued to profit out of being dishonest and continued to take the easy way out. He just also passed up on numerous opportunities to screw people over in big ways and has been spotless in his "new life". There's some balance there and you can't ignore either the good or the bad.

I know THOAC like some other people know him, only from online interaction and i have to say that he has been a good friend, and i say FRIEND because people that care to listen and give advice should be labeled "friends", doesnt really matter if i never shook his hand.

Actually, i got to know him when HE approached me to start a staking/protégé/free coaching type of deal after seeing a post i did asking for a stake to play in the 2+2 HUSNG tourneys. And since then he has offered me free help countless times never asking for anything back.

I think this reflects his true character, more than a mistake he made.

How is what Sol and Gary done any better? They got found out and came clean..which they probably would not have if they didn't get caught. How is this any different than this situation?

They didn't create new names and pretend to be different people to get ahead in the game.

Hey, I really don't know anyone, I am not a professional player or whatever, I just keep wondering why the hell do people do this kind of crap for such a small amount of money. Yeah, of course 1k isn't that little, but people who play this game as professional players (or at least play decently enough to win 1k without having to be dishonest) really have NOTHING to gain from stealing.

Poker is a game which is seen badly on its own, generally speaking. When you're a "poker player" many will look to you and think "oh he's just an addicted gambler, thinking he can actually win on a luck-based game". Our actions, our honesty is all we have to prove that we're not some kind of degen and that we don't need to be scumbags to play poker for real money (professionally or not). It's even more understandable that you got greedy and "sold your soul" for a lot of money, but risking your only proof of honesty for 1k is something I really just don't understand.

Not saying I judge you or anything, I just find it somewhat interesting what do you need to be thinking to do this.

On Girah's example I guess it's kinda different (no way that it's better, it's just like he was really stealing some significant money for him) cuz he was scamming people for more than 30k and he probably couldn't make much more than that by playing poker (on his own, lol).

Conclusion is: I'm just curious why you did it back then. Just didn't like the guy you stole from? (cuz apparently you had other opportunities to do the same and you just didn't)
I just think that maybe explaining your reasons, whatever they are, is somewhere to begin showing that you actually can be honest. Although as many people have said here, you did actually act decently (as far as everyone knows) from that time to now.
